Black is Canadian, owns some magazine, and a brilliant guy! I disagree with him, but do you prefer spending your time talking with a real person about real subjects or some mentally unstable hipsters who are 50 and still don’t know what they want to do when they grow up? Flip a coin!
One of the total converts from the National Revue stooges is Victor Davis Hanson. He was a (short lived) never Trumper that saw the light and went to being a Trump supporter.
Thomas Sowell is their token black never-Trumper but as smart as he and some knuckle draggers think, he's not savvy enough to know it.
Not sure how your /s is understood or intended, but the complete quote is:
..."they shouldn’t imagine that, if he chooses to seek reelection, Trump will be easy for this administration to defeat whether he’s charged over the Keystone Kops affair at Mar-a-Lago or not."
Yes, it was a misunderstanding on my part.. I tend to do that a lot nowadays..(sigh) Getting old stinks, but I guess the alternative is the real pits... :)
Sadly, I agree with Robert DeLong.
For many years, Andrew McCarthy was the only reason I continued to scan National Review Online several times a week.
I gave up on McCarthy almost at the same moment I gave up on Matt Drudge and the Drudge Report, which is where I started every day for more than a decade.
In their political prime, those two guys were irreplaceable assets in Conservative Media.
You should take a minute and search the history of Conrad Black. He’s a very interesting person. The late Rush Limbaugh was close friends with Lord Black. Mr. Black is someone the left truly hates.
Where is Andy McCarthy on the MILLIONS of government files that Obama took with him and are being stored in an abandoned used furniture storehouse? Crickets!! Hatred of all things Trump is truly a mental disease!
To formulate this case against the former president is itself a reduction of the subject to absurdity. There has been no suggestion, other than by the Trump-hating media, that the former president was careless with highly confidential material that could affect U.S. national security, and the photograph issued by the Department of Justice of a range of documents marked classified, spread out on a carpet of the former president’s home, as if he had left them in that place himself, is indicative of the desperation of the DOJ to cooper together some plausible complaint from the farrago of nonsense that it has stirred up.
A departing president can take copies of whatever he wants, as they were in his custody in an official capacity; he has an unlimited security clearance, and he can declassify, explicitly or otherwise, anything in his possession while he’s president. McCarthy’s laborious and slightly pedantic assault upon his caricatures of several of the ex-president’s counsels’ defense arguments don’t in themselves approach the necessary threshold of indicating that a crime was committed.
Thus Andy is a regular on Fox News.
Read the entire paragraph:
Whatever they decide, they shouldn’t imagine that, if he chooses to seek reelection, Trump will be easy for this administration to defeat whether he’s charged over the Keystone Kops affair at Mar-a-Lago or not.
McCarthy has always been somewhat of a loser in my book, a typical Establishment hack who just loves the justice dept and defends almost everything they do.
His legal analysis is usually faulty, typical of former federal prosecutors.
