Ex-CIA officer says Putin is 'completely cornered' and the chances of his using tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine are increasing 'by the day'

former CIA officer said Vladimir Putin had been backed into a corner over his war in Ukraine.

Robert Baer told CNN the Russian leader was unlikely to deescalate, given all his setbacks.

Baer also said the chances that Putin might turn to tactical nuclear weapons were increasing.

As military setbacks in Ukraine force Russian President Vladimir Putin into a corner, one former CIA officer argues that the chances he might turn to nuclear weapons are increasing.

"I think the chances of his de-escalating are close to zero," Robert Baer, a former CIA case officer, told CNN on Tuesday, adding that Putin "simply cannot give up so much ground and be seen to be losing and continue as leader of Russia."

"The chances of his using nuclear weapons — at least tactical nuclear weapons — is going up by the day," Baer added, referring to smaller nuclear weapons meant for use on the battlefield.

Now that we agree Biden blew up Russia’s pipelines Russia has an excuse to use any means necessary to protect its interests.

Wow! We are so smart!

“Worse than Nukes - Putin may make Peace with Ukraine..”

A guy breaks into your house, kills one of your kids and your dog; rapes your daughter; and steals some of your stuff; and then says, “Hey! Let’s be friends!”

Got it.

Russia has energy, fertilizer, land to grow crops, water, manufacturing capabilities, minerals, gold and silver.

I would rather live in Russia’s corner, as opposed to EU’s corner

You and Tucker, having no hard evidence, are so smart giving Russia an excuse to protect its interests by any means necessary. Brilliant!

Here is the one who "crapped where he eats."

And the whole world knows it.

If you want to stick with "My Country Right Or Wrong," even as America pulls a covert undersea Pearl Harbor on Europe, that's on you.

I refuse to go along with this evil scheme, even if it was carried out by the villains occupying our White House.

But you do you.

I'll do me.

there’s no shortage of pipeline capacity for taking gas from Russia to Western Europe, including Germany,” Sikorski added. “Nordstream’s only logic was for Putin to be able to blackmail

/\

If there’s no shortage of. other pipeline...

..what is Putin supposed to have to blackmail with ?

Contradiction much ?

A+ for Roooski tampon humor. Putin’s Three Stooges Army.

Europe and UK have enough gas, but at what price? The escalating prices of all energy including electricity are killing them. I read in the UK Daily Mail all the time, about how much UK electricity prices have gone up.

You make a good point that was or has been a reason why we the US have never used a nuclear weapon. There are, approaching reasons, which you understand why Russia may well unleash neutron bombs. They achieve the same goals of a tactical nuke, without the devastation of the nuke. US Forces doctrine indicate that a town or building in the detontiation zone of a neutron weapon can be reoccupied by people in as little as 5-6 weeks to live in; however the radiation will kill the combatant or inhabatant of said building in 48-96 hours. Thus, Putin may well unleash an artillery barrage of neutron shells, followed by decisive offensie operations into those disputed sectors. That fact that everyone thinks Nukes are unthinkale is because they have never been an infantryman or artilleryman stationed in Germany or the 82d Abn Div. Those of us who stood firm during the cold war were scared sh*tless that neutrons would be used by both the US and Germany. We also knew Soviet doctrine was to employ chermical and biological weapons in small sectors to clear or push out opposing troops.

The tactical nuclear arguement is moot. We are not faced with that threat, but the Biden Admin better get it act together and figure out how to deal with the neutron bomb’s limited radiation life factor and land reclaimation and occupatation within 6-weeks.

For now. Serial loser Putin has lost round one of the energy hybrid war. Europe has gas for this winter and he is escalating. But what happens when Russia bombs the other pipelines? You see now we deserve to have our pipelines targeted now according to Putin’s fan club. Could the same be said if those pipes sat their empty. Not as easily.

“But what happens when Russia bombs the other pipelines?”

I would assume an unprecedented surge in tragic smoking-related disasters among Russian critical infrastructure - the kind never seen before Putin decided to try full scale invasion and mass mobilization.

He has to be stopped by force. The West understands that, and has long prepared for it.

It is kind of like Putin deciding to fight WWIII, but no other countries are on his side, not even Kazakhstan or Armenia. Not even Belarus.

Russia’s appetite for conquest has exceeded its capability for centuries
