And you are a trained shooter who was lucky to have one of your 30 caliber .00 pellets hit the deer at just the right spot. I have done the same but only 1 out of the 20 times I tried. Generally the spread of 00 ammo after 25 yards makes hitting your target a combination of skill and a lot of luck. Note: a slug from a rifled barrel is a different story. Good to about 100 yards.

My house is situated in line with one of Eglin’s runways.
F-15’s are not that loud. Even my deaf ass can tell tell difference between an F-35 and a F-15 takeoff............

I know. I just wanted to put out some straight talk. And you were right to a degree - at close in-home range a 12 gauge with 00 buck is hard to beat. Especially out of an 18” barrel.
