Moderate lawmaker: GOP faces 'a lot of pressure' to impeach Biden next year (Mace, SC)

Asked by Todd how she'd vote if impeachment articles against Biden were brought to the floor next year, Mace said her intention was to "do the right thing," look at the evidence, and vote constitutionally, before vowing to not take part in a GOP-led witch hunt against a Democratic president.

“I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process has been stripped away for anyone, and I typically vote constitutionally regardless of who’s in power,” she said. “I want to do the right thing for the long term because this isn’t just about today, tomorrow, this year’s election. This is about the future of democracy. This is about protecting our Constitution.”

She's just SOOO principled isn't she?

Millions flooding across the border, American citizens held without charge or trial for nearly two years, etc.

SC, are you proud of yourselves for putting her back in?

“This is about the future of democracy. This is about protecting our Constitution.”

The very definition of an oxymoron.

I’m glad they refer to her as a moderate, which she is. She pretended to be a conservative when she ran against Graham.

What I want is for our lawmakers to fix things. I don’t care about impeachment.

I care about state rights and the debt.

You are 100% correct. If the Republicans take control, forget about impeachment, solve the problems, get back to state rights, inflation, oil independence, parents rights in schools, voter integrity, SOLVE PROBLEMS

Does Biden deserve to be impeached, ABSOLUTELY, but I’m not in favor of doing this.

IMO, Biden is worth more to Republicans being the bumbling fool who caters to the radicals in his party potentially turning him into a martyr.

Regardless of outcome of the midterm elections, there is no way impeachment will be successful, even if it were, who would you rather have Biden or Kamala, that’s like having dog crap on both of your shoes, there is no good option.

If the Republicans move to impeach him, it will suck up all the oxygen in Washington and any time taken away from trying to fix the problems we are facing by trying to impeach Biden is time wasted.

Hold hearings, expose as much of the corruption as you can setting the stage for a huge win in 2024.

Gop do ANYTHING of consequence to turn the American “titanic” away from the coming collision with the globalist iceberg with captain biden at the helm? Every single member of his administration is all about turning this huge American vessel directly into this coming collision but the gop DOESN’T CARE! They’re all picking out their lifeboats like a bunch of little Ismay’s. Screw the women and children. Just my 2.

The dems opened this can of worms when they impeached Trump over loose allegations. Now it’s coming back on them. Is this what we can expect with all presidents now? Each side will find excuse to impeach the other?

Probably not worth the time since Biden won’t be removed but on general principle he should be impeached at least 3 times

His open border policy is more than enough reason to impeach not to mention him taking bribes.

He is also very susceptible to a 25th Amendment impeachment, as well given his obvious mental/cognitive impairments. The Idiot just flat out unfit for duty, let alone dereliction of duty.

I couldn't agree more. If the GOP stumbles into the majority there needs to be a priority placed on not only the two items you mentioned, but also the border, crime, wokeness in education, etc. Impeachment actions will go absolutely nowhere, because there is no way in hell the Senate will vote to convict and remove Biden from office. Instead, let the demented old puke twist and the ho in the wind.

Unless he resigns, the 25th is a bigger hurdle than impeachment

Why bother impeaching - Just stop his agenda. Let him remain in the White House for 2 more years so people get a good look at what’s in there now. The Republicans need to focus on making an argument against this fools policies.

Biden is worth more to Republicans being the bumbling fool who caters to the radicals in his party .... Bingo. The more they stand in his way, if they do, the more unhinged he and his team become.

it will suck up all the oxygen in Washington .... and that’s exactly what McConnell, McCarthy, Scalise, Thune, Rubio, Barasso, Ernst, Capito, and all the others want. They can get on every network that will have them on and talk about how they’re holding him accountable, while allowing the status quo to keep on keeping on and getting absolutely nothing done.

Impeachment is meaningless! Defund FBI and shut down new IRS agents! Now that would impress me.
