EV technology has its place. However, as many here endlessly point out, that place has nothing to do with saving the environment. For the right person, for the right application, EVs make good sense. For instance, one of my neighbors bought an early model small EV, albeit with modest range. They use it for short errands, shopping, and commutes where that limitation is not an issue.. They plug it in nightly to their home charging station, and it adds about $30 a month to their electric bill. That’s less than one fill-up these days.

Yes. There is nothing wrong with EV if the limitations aren’t a major concern for you.

The problem is people who pretend it’s better for the environment when it’s not. And people who are so bad at math that they are against building new power plants yet want more people to drive EV.

That's exactly the kind of use I have in mind for when I get one. Just something for the wife and I to use around town. Plug it in at night. Saving wear and tear on our primary vehicle, which will be reserved for longer trips and cold/snowy weather conditions.

True, but I can go about 500 miles on a fillup
