Take a quick look at the Fort Myers area - to see what's possibly in the path of Ian... all those black lines aren't roads, they're 'canals'. This entire city of CAPE CORAL is fanned out on the wate.......

Yes, Cape Coral is more water than land. It’s where you catch the johnboat over to North Captiva after stocking up at Publix. Ft. Meyers is Canal City, jumping off point for Sanibel. How I loved Sanibel as a toddler and little girl back in the 1960s before they built the causeway. It was pure Paradise then. So many wonderful memories. So sad Ian is headed there. :(

Yikes. Scary to see the Cape from that angle. We went through Hurricane Sandy in the Jersey shore area. Retired to Cape Coral 7 years ago.

My son and family are in Cape Coral...so worried for them. Actually just his girlfriend and 3 kids, our granddaughter and two step grandsons, he’s in California working.
