Meteorology is fascinating.
When I grew up in Cleveland, we had a local weather guy, Meteorologist Dick Goddard. He was great. He would explain things quite well, and make sure that people had something of a clue of what the weather was fixing to do, and why.
Although, in his famous words, “Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to 6 inches of partly cloudy on the ground”. This after an unexpected snowfall.
Yup, it happens.
Yesterday here was supposed to be mostly sunny and we had showers about every hour on the hour.
It was frustrating as I was counting on getting my laundry done and usually hang it out.
Having lived in CNY and WNY, and being no stranger to lake-effect snow, you do learn to not take the weather forecast as gospel. It’s a forecast, not written in stone on Mt Siani.
We’re originally from Cleveland too. That guy was a staple on channel 8 (?) I believe.
