Bare foundations... two blocks from the beach... in Ft. Myers.
While that’s terrible for the owners, it may actually be good news for the entire surge area.

This aerial view of Ft Meyers looks like tornado damage. So sad. I hope all of the occupants had evacuated.

That image reminds me of Galveston in 1900 but with better-built structures. The storm surge left a horrible mess, that's to be sure. And to think this monster storm was predicted to hit the Tampa Bay area in early estimates. If it had hit Tampa Bay, the damage to both Tampa and St. Petersburg just from the storm surge would have been ENORMOUS.
