I have noticed that, too.

As a meteorologist, I have no use for the likes of Cantore who sensationalize everything. It gives the NWS and meteorologists a bad name and is what causes people to not take them seriously.

I’m not a meteorologist, but can’t stand him. People had posted a couple good YouTube streams earlier on awesome guys basically in their basement with a network of cameras showing the current conditions along with radar indicating where the storm is moving, etc. It was much more useful without the sensationalized reporting.

Meteorology is fascinating.

When I grew up in Cleveland, we had a local weather guy, Meteorologist Dick Goddard. He was great. He would explain things quite well, and make sure that people had something of a clue of what the weather was fixing to do, and why.

Although, in his famous words, “Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to 6 inches of partly cloudy on the ground”. This after an unexpected snowfall.
