“Believe it or not, Supreme Courts acting like Supreme Legislatures”
In North Carolina, and a few other states, THAT problem BEGINS with electing judges; as the initial error. An elected judge, having arrived on the bench by “popularlity” is more likley to act (in my view) like a legislator (continuing to seek approval of those who elected them).
To me the federal method - nominated by the executive and agreed to by a body of the legislators, is the best method for positions in the judiciary. Judges should not be chosen by popular election.
The next best thing is term limits......................
