There are many homosexual men who, by their own count, have sex with literally (not figuratively) dozens of other men (mostly strangers) each year. If you introduce any communicable disease to this population it will quickly become an epidemic among homosexual men.

"Dozens of other men each year" is a conservative count.

I always wonder, at what point do they lose count? I'd put it in the low double digits. Especially when their "lover" isn't attached to a name. Anything higher, they are estimating, tempered by a penchant to not appear such a slut. So the numbers are actually much higher. Self-reporting is inherently flawed by an urge of self-protection.

You are probably off by a factor of 10. I just read an article the other day saying the average is between 500 to 1000 "partners" in a lifetime. Some range as high as 3000.
