I made an out of town trip the last week of Jan. 2020 and was sick as a dog when I got home. Bad flu I thought and still do as I didn’t have covid symptoms - that we were just staring to hear about in China at that time. Haven’t had covid, or a cold or flu since. I did get the Moderna jab but as we know that is no guarantee and it didn’t kill me either.

I think lots of people have probably been exposed and not really ‘gotten’ it - just like most of us are exposed to the regular ‘flu almost every season, but not everyone comes down with it. Individual biology and immune responses are very diverse.

I’m one of 6 siblings born between early 1950s and early 1960s. We all live separately. As far as I know none of us has had the Covid-19. And one sibling is institutionalized and several of the other residents and workers have had it.

Kind of makes me wonder if maybe it’s in our genetic make-up.

Most of the people who get it don’t even know they have it.

There was a big, multi-year experiment undertaken in the UK which (among other things) showed that most people who had influenza didn't know they had it.

I still think having all childhood diseases gives more protection against viruses. Maybe the Lord gave us those diseases in order to give us strong immunity systems. Stopping them may not be the best idea. I had them all and I’ve hardly ever had even colds, and never Flu. Might have had a small bit of covid. One light symptom a day for 4 days. Never felt bad. Never been tested and I’m very old.

So when SARS-CoV-2 came along ... many labs looked to see if the same might be true for this virus ... they went looking for mutations in the genes required for SARS-CoV-2 to enter and infect cells

Probably would have been quicker if instead of having to search they could just have asked the people who made SARS-CoV-2?
