If Democrats were hoping that the relentless pressure on Donald Trump would make him back down, they were apparently wrong.
Trump was a guest on conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Thursday, dropping some very interesting nuggets.
Among them: He not only believes he won’t be indicted, but if he were, it wouldn’t stop him from running for President.
Further, he warned that an indictment would lead to “…problems in this country the likes of which perhaps we’ve never seen before. I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it.”

The Constitution does not state that a citizen under indictment is ineligible from being president.
Sounds like the Deep State and the Rats have riled him.
Wouldn’t it be sensible to declare his run for 2024 Presidency now?
Yes!
Why the delay?
I like Trump’s determination.
Years ago just the idea that a president MIGHT be impeached
ONCE was enough to leave office and go into hiding for 10 years. Now, since Nancy and Co. have cheapened the measure of impeachment, doing it just because you don’t like the president, much of the power behind that term has evaporated.
The way I read what he said.....He may decide not to run for any number of reasons but and indictment won’t be one of them.
I love it.
Trump is a fighter.
The Left won’t stop him.
Like Trump, may the same be true with all of us.
Yep. This IS leadership.
Anyone who isn't, "Riled" by this epic corruption, is clearly not paying attention.
I haven’t seen where someone in prison can’t run. There are only a couple of qualifications to run for president
James Michael Curley, Mayor of Boston, was reelected though indicted.
If Barack could run twice for president, with a Kenya citizen father, anyone can run for president.
If somehow the rats were to stop President Trump from running for reelection by indicting him, I honestly believe it would give him even greater power.
Instead of being president, the former president would be king maker and could give guidance to 100 million plus adults with the wave of his hand.
If liberals believe half of their own propaganda they must be very afraid.
IMO Trump isn’t going to run but is having a field day jacking
with the Democrats and Press.
Nor that a convicted person, or even one currently imprisoned is ineligible.
There have been 46 presidencies (including the current one,
Joe Biden, whose term began in 2021), and 45 different
individuals have served as president.
President Trump knows how to pull their strings and gets
a good laugh out of it. JMO
Good.
There are some legal realities to be considered that come into play once you declare your candidacy. That’s normally why politicians wait until a certain time to declare. For example, before you are a candidate, you can go on any radio show or television show you want and give interviews with no ramifications, but after you declare, the “equal time” laws kick in and they can’t give you airtime without also giving airtime to any other candidate that wants to oppose you. And all the campaign finance laws and mandatory disclosures to those regulators will kick in too.
But on the other hand, if Trump were to declare, then it creates an additional hurdle to any federal indictment, since the DOJ and FBI are on record just a few years ago telling the whole word how they couldn’t indict Hillary Clinton without creating the appearance of election interference.
