More than 150 Michigan Republicans launched a new campaign effort to boost the reelection prospects of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) against GOP opponent Tudor Dixon, who is backed by former President Trump.
Republicans for Whitmer is led by a leadership council of 35 Republicans from Michigan, including business leaders, former lawmakers and staff who served under former state GOP governors John Engler and Rick Snyder.
Bill Parfet, the chairman and CEO of commercial real estate company Northwood Group, said he was supporting Whitmer because she was seeking to build a common bridge between Democrats and Republicans.

I’m watching, but I find it odd that of the “35”, there are only 3 names listed. I live in west Michigan and have been a political junkie for over 30 years. Not one of the names they did list in the article do I recognize.
We did manage to primary Peter Meijer, and before that Justin Amash.
There used to be. My US Rep was one. Clowntoon began the process of denying Party funds to reps who don’t toe the line. Oshythead took it to new heights.

The DeVos wing of the republiCANT party in Michigan got their little peepees slapped down hard at the convention. It would appear that the MAGA faction has taken over enough precincts and counties to override them.
A number of big money donors took their toys and went home.
Now, we get the backlash.
