Moments after 2 more armed robberies in Wicker Park, CPD boss orders cops to stop following men wanted for over a dozen hold-ups. ( Chicago )

An armed robbery crew that has struck repeatedly in Wicker Park and Avondale returned to the area to commit two more daylight robberies on Friday morning. Chicago police spotted the offenders as they fled from the second robbery scene, but a CPD supervisor ordered units not to follow the car onto the expressway. So, the armed men, wanted for more than a dozen armed and sometimes violent robberies, remain at large to commit more crimes.

Chicago police say both robberies happened around 11 a.m. on Friday, about 10 minutes apart.

First, two men got out of a dark sedan and grabbed a 50-year-old woman’s purse as she walked in the 1800 block of North Winchester, a CPD spokesperson said. The purse strap broke, but the robbers couldn’t get it from her before they fled the scene, according to police.

One of the robbers was armed with a handgun.

The CPD spokesperson said that minutes later, two men stepped out of a dark-colored car and confronted a 30-year-old man walking in the 2300 block of West Wabansia. While one offender pointed a gun at the victim, the other went through the man’s pockets to take valuables, according to CPD.

In both cases, the offenders were described as Black males wearing hoodies and face masks who escaped in a four-door car with a passenger-side window taped up or covered with a garbage bag.

That’s the vehicle and suspect description given in a string of robberies reported in the area since August 22, including at least eight other robberies this month. The crew has pistol-whipped some victims and fired shots during at least one hold-up, according to CPD.

...

On Friday, cops spotted the car, a black Kia with a taped-up rear passenger window, at 11:09 a.m., moments after the second robbery, according to police radio transmissions. They followed the vehicle until it reached the Kennedy Expressway.

“After it gets on the expressway, let it go,” a supervisor radioed.

The officers followed those directions, as CPD’s auto pursuit policy requires.

...

CPD’s pursuit rules, written in August 2020, provide officers with 11 pages of instructions to consider when deciding if a vehicle should be pursued. It says very clearly that the CPD won’t punish any officer for ending a car chase and that they must obey any order from a supervisor to stop following or chasing a suspect.

The order was meant to reduce the number of accidents and injuries to innocent bystanders during police chases. Chicago has paid out millions of dollars to settle lawsuits filed by crash victims and their families.

But one consequence of the city’s policy is that people who commit violent crimes remain on the loose to commit more violent crimes.

As CWBChicago reported just days ago, Chicago cops terminated pursuits and “follows” of another robbery crew’s vehicle at least five times in the six months between November 2021 and May 2022. That group of offenders is believed to have robbed well over 50 people, often pistol-whipping and sometimes firing shots. Their string of crimes culminated with the brutal shooting and robbery of Dakotah Earley in Lincoln Park on May 6.

In fact, CWB has reported, police terminated a “follow” of that group’s car about an hour before it rolled up Earley.

During a recent discussion about the growing police practice of not pursuing violent offenders, former New York City police sergeant Joseph Giacolone tweeted, “You’re dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t, however, dammed if you don’t is what the politicians want.”

The police in Chicago won’t arrest thugs, so armed resistance by gun is the public’s only option.

Crimes against businesses and white people are usually just part of the plan for "redistribution" of wealth, sometimes referred to as "reparations."

What it really is...is "retribution."

It’s time to take the gloves off on these people.

When they come to your place, make sure they leave feat

Chaos is more valuable to the deep state than security of their disposable pawns.

I didn’t know it was so easy to pull off an armed robbery in Chicago. Evidently there are only two simple steps.

Step 1: Commit the robbery.
Step 2: Drive onto the expressway.

I suppose there could be a Step 3: Tell all your friends about this.
But that step would be optional.

This seems to be the policy du jour with the blue city states. The commie legislature in the Soviet of Washington decided to adopt this non pursuit policy in 2021 resulting in murderers walking away from a crime, emboldened carjackers and the perps know if they can “make it to the Highway” they are Scott free.

Hell, the criminals call 911 during the pursuit and tell the 911 operator to call off the illegal pursuit, and the crazy thing is they stop. Unless a cop has eyeballed the crime or suspect the fleeing perp is drunk the cops must let them go. Don’t think that the cops can just say, “I thought the driver was drunk, they were…” If the perp is not impaired and the cop uses that as an excuse to nab the criminal the cop gets punished by the uber leftists Civilian Police Oversight Board. Consequently the police just let the baddies go.

This policy is a huge driver for liberal commies buying their very first gun in the Pugetopolis communist area of Washington. We have almost 1,000,000 Concealed Carry Licensees in a state of only 7.5 million people. The amazing part is, Washington is and has been a one party (dimocRAT) state for at least 50 years.

The chickens have come home to roost, but the commies that make up the Pugetopolis area are so infected with cognitive dissonance they wander around stupefied about why their socialist utopia isn’t.

While I agree, then the anarcho-tyranny kicks in, and the person who has appropriately defended themselves is run through the legal system wringer by Leftist DAs. We need to solve that problem as well.

The only people that can solve 'that problem' is the voters of every city where this 'easy on criminal DAs' are in charge.

The voters need to boot them out and until they do, the ugly headlines will continue.

How are cops supposed to arrest people for thought crimes if they are tied up all the time chasing actual violent criminals?

Not just Chicago:

Abandonment of public safety responsibilities is common in ALL blue states as though by design/template.

There was another post this morning speculating about the dems deliberately stoking conflict so that they could respond with ‘violence’; my interpretation is that this is their version of ‘operation chaos’, but it only works in blue states where their subjects are too stupid to grasp that everything causing a decline in quality of life are due to policy decisions by leaders which they themselves chose for their cities.

They can suck it.

For the rest of us, we are now subject to stealth gun control (credit companies and UPS, according to very recent reports) and they’re making it increasingly difficult to even acquire a firearm (and ammo).

So your last comment (”so armed resistance by gun is the public’s only option”) - which presumes you are directing ‘resistance’ against the thugs - should really be directed at local, county & state leaders & bureaucrats when referencing non-blue states (and/or Conservatives subject to blue state policy failures).

If we don’t draw the red line for them, they’ll draw it wherever they see fit.

Just sayin’...

It does not matter how the people vote. The cheat will ensure the vote is always democrat. This is why Chicago has elections with 30% of the population voting. People know how it works.

After Jan 1st, 2023 it's going to be a whole lot worse across HELLINOIS due to Governor FATASS signing the "SAFE-T" act that eliminates cash bond for damn' near everything up to 2nd Degree Murder in this state.

HELLINOIS RESIDENTS: shoot first, ask questions later. And remember this: I WAS AFRAID FOR MY LIFE whenever you run across someone trying to cause you harm or death.
