After averting blackouts Monday night, the managers of California’s electricity grid had to navigate a day when energy consumption in the state is expected to blow past the all-time record. SMUD issued a separate warning to the Sacramento region that blackouts could hit the area for the first time in 20 years.

“We’re heading into the worst part of this heat wave,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a video posted Tuesday morning. “The risk of outages is real and it’s immediate.”

But, if Californians are patient enough, they’ll be able to do without fossil-fuels and get by with just renewal energy, some 50 years in the future.

Hey easy. Just get everybody their own Flintstone mobile! Non-polluting (mostly), exercise friendly, developed in California for Californians!

I hope that all the good people currently in California get out.

I hope that all the bad people currently in California stay there.

It is going to be more and more a third-world hellhole.

Water shortages.

Electricity shortages.

Crime waves.

Oregon should build a wall along its southern border.

I always say, Idaho should have border patrol. Taxpayer money will spent.

Maybe whale oil would work ?

Baby seal oil and ground up puppy dogs is better.

The solution is easy-peasy -

Use a larger ratio of soybeans in the unicorn feed.
The unicorns will fart out rainbow bio-gas at a greater rate.
Place a new tax levy on all Californians who breathe air
to pay for the more expensive soybean-enriched organic
unicorn granola blend.

Problem solved.
Why on earth do people have to make things so darn difficult?
Beats the heck outta me...

/sspss (silly simple problem solving sarcasm)

"What will wake up the voters in CA and other liberal crap holes?"

.

I really don't know.
Starvation and death will only put them into an even deeper (and permanent) sleep.

There was a Ca. voter standing on the corner and hitting himself in the head with a hammer. A cop stopped and asked him why he was doing that .... the voter replied: “I like the way it feels when I stop”.

“That was great stuff, made the best transmission fluid ever, and was damn difficult to replace when outlawed.”

As I understand, it was only an additive and there were no problems replacing it.

GM got a lot of publicity on blamed it on the ban but they had problems on only two of the several types they manufactured.

#2 the democrats have banned generators starting January 1, 2028

Meanwhile they will keep shutting down power plants and banning natural gas for homes and draining reservoirs and logging and clearing brush.

SMUD shut down the Rancho Seco nuclear plant in 1989, as a result of pressure from “activists”. An extra .9 GW would have come in very useful in 2000-2001, and now. The problem with infrastructure things is that stupid decisions driven by temporary hysteria can bite hard decades later. Also, see Germany.
