Maybe something like:

or
Texasgator, xxxxxxxxxxxxx.
would clarify. I don’t know the proper etiquette on this.

Using italics when quoting others has long been standard here, but has faded away, perhaps because of the new touch screens. Many don’t want to fool with html any longer. It is niddly, especialy without a keyboard.
A proper etiquette, a uniform way of quoting others and of indicating which person one is addressing would surely be nice and cut down on confusion. I wish we had one.

My wife’s cousin showed us a photo of a foot long clot from his leg. He was fully vaxxed and boosted. Died soon after.
