I worked the Census too.

I’m not just “conservative” — for by now people can labor to conserve FDR era high handed lawlessness that Eisenhower rubber stamped — but a restorationist who would gleefully tear out all the lawlessness.

Well, it wouldn’t have been as simple as that. Sure, the court likely would have “combined” MN-07 with MN-08 and given the southern portion of MN-07 to MN-01, with all three of those CDs being held by the GOP after 2020 (although as recently as 2018 all three were held by Democrats). But the reduction of the state’s delegation to seven members would have increased each CDs required 2020 population by 12.5%, forcing the urban MN-04 and MN-05 further into Democrat-voting inner suburbs and making the suburban districts that moved from R to D recently—the MN-02 and MN-03—more exurban (or maybe even rural) and less Democratic. It is very likely that the redrawn MN-03 would only lean Democrat while the redrawn MN-02 would lean Republican, which would result in a net loss of one Dem-held seat (and, if 2022 ends up being as good a GOP year as it seemed a few months ago, perhaps even a net of +1R, -2D).

at only two of the households I visited was any attempt made to eat my liver!

That's why I always leave the Amarone locked in the trunk.

My wife’s family was never counted between 1920-1970

Ummm.

1920, 1930, 1940, 1950.

The 1950 Census was only released in April, and I believe that the indexing is just finishing up. I've used the 1950 Census, but with my rudimentary "Battleship" method.

The 1960 and 1970 Censuses will not be available for another 10 and 20 years, respectively.

If you have questions, I do genealogy as a hobby, and I'm pretty good at it.

Freepmail me for tips if you want, or you can ask questions on this thread.

One issue is that in older Censuses, especially around the turn of last century, new immigrants would give names to Census people, and it wasn't necessarily true that they would write the name down in a form that you would recognize or be able to search.

In cases like that, I play "Battleship".

Also, which tools are you using?

I pride myself on never having paid for Ancestry, preferring other freebie tools like Familysearch.org [the Mormon site].

The Slime-ocrats actually LOST a Democrat seat that they had held for 30 years to a newbie Republican in 2020.

I believe that this was because the vote fraud machine was unable to travel outside its central rectangle [55 mile by 70 mile, centered on the Twin Cities] to change that particular race.

Which shows you two things - 1. Trump most likely won Minnesota in 2020 and 2. Minnesota has probably been a more reddish state for all these years.

The reason I say this is because of all the shenanigans the Dems have to engage in to steal state-wide races.

I was only threatened with bodily harm once when I worked the census.

Doesn’t matter. He was President and he put one of his own in commerce in charge of the census. He should have had some oversight.

My Dad worked the 2000 and 2010 censuses, and he was even more conservative than I am. So that’s another one.
