I don’t care how you feel. I’m putting out facts. Facts are important. Without them you can’t comprehend the reality you’re in. In our reality the assumption that cartoons are for kids became wrong when Fritz the Cat came out in 1972. And anybody still assuming because something is a cartoon it’s for kids is an idiot.
And actually right now I’m watching Mary and Max and award winning stop motion movie about midlife crisis and a bunch of other stuff kids would find boring at best. Welcome to reality.
Another example is one of Peter Jackson’s early efforts, the muppet-style film MEET THE FEEBLES (1989). The movie poster critic quote was “Hilariously vileā¦!” His early films WERE hilariously vile (laughing one minute, rolfing the next) and would shock a bunch of LOTR fans if they saw them.
