Sad, but being a “free spirit” college aged girl is a good way to end your life these days. I have intelligent, conservative friends w/ girls in college this age. They don’t go ANYWHERE on campus or off w/out friends that have their backs.
She was obviously a victim of the perp, but possibly of her upbringing (both at school and at home) as well.
R.I.P. young lady.

When my daughter started college in 2006, she got a very unambiguous warning from me: Don't go anywhere alone. Travel in groups, with friends, both male and female. Nothing good happens after midnight, either.
Kept her safe. And this was a small college in a small North Carolina town, with a very proactive "in loco parentis" attitude.
