The Wall Street Journal editorial board argued Sunday that former President Trump should be held to the same standards as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
They said that the Department of Justice set a precedent by declining to prosecute Clinton in 2016 for her mishandling of classified emails, and hence, attempting to similarly prosecute Trump would be an unequal application of the law.
"When Jim Comey held his July 2016 press briefing on Hillary Clinton’s emails, his conclusion was this: ‘Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case,’" the editors recalled.....
"If Mr. Garland can’t make a compelling case that Mr. Trump’s transgressions are greater than Mrs. Clinton’s, with enough clear and convincing evidence to warrant a criminal charge, the better judgment is not to prosecute and put the country through the trauma of a political trial that half of America will suspect is a case of unequal justice," they concluded.

Must be the Crossfire-Hurricane documents the FBI was so intent on getting back so they can continue their coverup of that illegal activity.
Mar-A-Lago SCIF room carpet. Which means every document in view had a right to be there.
That info is INSIDE the Yellow or RED borders shown. Someone may want to zoom in to see if this info exists."
What if some were produced in DNI Coats office and merely walked across the hall. Not all of those are PDBs, which I would expect to have that tagged info.
Classic political show trial worthy of even the most corrupt third world countries.
WSJ going the moral equivalency route. Sounds about right.
Even if photocopied, yes that’s “legal,” the text in the footer area would still be there. These sheets are “official” documents and forms. Using the wrong or unofficial form is a security violation.
Trump says they were all declassified, so this is a bogus expedition from a legal perspective... maybe it hurts him in 2024, but the constitution and USSC have it pretty clear the president can declassify anything he/she wants, anytime, and any way... below the president there are more formal rules.. but those rules are set by the president, or his designee(s).... Obama wrote the (current) rules in 2009 on classified document handling... his order said basically the president can do whatever/whenever and no formal process is necessary...
I remember when that rule came out in 2009. Our comment then was “OMG what did that idiot just do”
If the papers are so super secret why did the FBI release that photo.
Unequal application of the law indeed.
Hillary opens another bottle of wine.
