Former President Donald Trump has insisted that he immediately be re-installed as president or that a new election be called. His reasoning? A Mark Zuckerberg interview in which the Facebook founder reiterated his previous claim that the FBI warned him of a potential dump of Russian misinformation weeks before the 2020 general election that Trump lost to President Joe Biden.
Yes, the former president really did demand he be reinstated as president 664 days after losing the election. By any objective measure, it’s nuts. Batshit crazy.
Trump first made the bizarre demand on his fledgling social media platform Monday at midday, then “re-truthed” his comments at roughly 2 a.m. Tuesday:

Or when our side has no cohesive message to win on because there is no organization within the party. Or that our side can win when we have way less major donors than the other side? How much money and how much time have you contributed to the candidates in your state?
Leftists have major turmoil too...but they are working like hell to get their candidates elected while our side sits back and thinks that a red wave will just mysteriously materialize!

It’s more a way of letting the world know what scum these folks are... Trump doesn’t really expect them to do crap. He knows what they are. But this is a great way for the parts of the country that keep their heads in the sand to squirm.

Ah, you’re one of those people I see. The kind of people that think gaining an additional 5% or so from the fence sitters out there will somehow magically compensate for demotivating your core base of supporters. In the real world, that never works.
First you motivate your base, and then, if possible, you can expand the base. Trump has already proven he can do both, and no other modern Republican at the national level can claim to have done so. Certainly no other Republican will be able to do so until Trump deems fit to pass the baton.
If people are too stupid to understand the difference between Trump and his enemies, they will get everything they deserve.

The base isn’t as big as you think it is. Many on the left and center are ready to support DeSantis...the same cannot be said for Trump.
