Chicago Police officers were attacked by "side show" drivers and watchers over the weekend as the trend of taking over street intersections to do vehicle stunts are becoming a mainstay in the Windy City.
While "side shows" might seem like harmless fun, it can turn dangerous very quickly as spectators can be harmed if the driver loses control. The nighttime events have become problematic for responding Chicago police officers as the crowd often attacks them with fireworks and rocks.
Videos posted to social media shows how out of control the crowds became towards the officers, with people even jumping on top of police SUVs.

Interesting, when the police got out of the car the “youts” disappeared like cockroaches when the lights come on.
Maybe someone could post a clip of the Chicongo Police at the 68 riots beating people.
In Philly, some people have been injured or killed in these street races. Outside the city, you can race your car at race tracks. Only a 30-minute drive from the city. You take a risk at the race tracks, too, but at least those drivers aren’t taking over city streets.
How long before they start seizing intersections and charging a toll to pass?

Takeover ? A drone dropping CS gas canisters amongst the crowd might get them to move along. Not something you do every time but once will cure some folks.

Compton, CA tried Bots Dots to curb this—it failed. St. Louis has been putting up barriers in the middle of intersections in the more colorful parts of town to more or less create instant roundabouts, not to prevent side shows, but people blowing through the stop signs.

When the institutional response to the current mayhem and lawlessness comes, and it will come as these things do not abate by themselves, the crackdown will be more sudden and severe then any leftist could possibly imagine. It will not single out left or right, merely institutional order.
