People from low-income households are told going to college is the primary route for getting a piece of the American Dream,* Perry says. *White people categorically ... have more wealth. They have their own higher-ed plans to make college more affordable.*

Wealth is built by hard work and families staying together. That is a dirty little secret the media will never admit, especially when talking about black "disparities".

Having just received my MBA and seeing the inside, I would agree.

The military also gives you opportunity for the American dream. Jeez, it’s always about having to give something to someone.

Tenured college professors can make over $250,000 annually and only be in the classroom a few hours each week. Scam.

Perry says. *White people categorically ... have more wealth.

Since it is inarguably true that some black people have more money than some white people, the claim that the converse is categorically true is....categorically false.

Moreover, because these are all loans for which income limits are in place to begin with, truly wealthy white people couldn't have taken out loans in the first place.

I think this is a horrible program because it is essentially amounts to a wealth transfer from the college educated to the noncology educated, but the idea that it is racially unfair with respct.to.the college educated is ridiculous.

How does one get to be a ‘student debt expert’?

Well Hell. If 10 grand ain’t enough, give them pore black folks 20 grand or 50 or more.
It really don’t matter anymore. Fiat money is all the rage. Plessy v Ferguson is out of fashion.
Let the good times roll!

Now that we have 23 and Me and similar companies what we should do is force every citizen to get their ancestry checked, and then fork over reparations and/or set tax rates based on what percentage of your ancestry is from an exploited or exploiting ethnicity.

This would also mean more data for solving cold cases and for developing viruses that target particularly troublesome populations.

Of course not. The lack of equity isnt fixed by having those who were eligible for a Pell Grant handout automatically eligible now for a double handout

The reality is that $10k was too much for many, but not enough for some who can never repay what the government claims they owe. This was just a political stunt to buy votes without regard to justice, traditional American values, or honestly trying to solve the problem.

How about 40 acres and mule? Or would that end up a dead mule and a slum housing complex?

My son wants to be an electrician. I'm so glad he's choosing that path.

Scott Adams on his podcast recently stated he saw some data that Computer Science, STEM, Engineering degrees were up while Humanities were down. So perhaps students are slowly learning to study more practical and potentially more lucrative subjects.

College graduates do earn a million dollars more on average over a lifetime than non college grads, so I’d hardly say they are “worthless,” especially when many employers toss HS grad only resumes into the trash.

I think this line of thinking: “Most college degrees are worthless” is bad for MAGA and the GOP and it will resign many bright talented young conservatives to lower paying jobs that are harder on the body.

Men are only 40% of those in US colleges, and falling, and men are only 30% of those in UK colleges, and falling. Soon all physicians and attorneys (and those in other lucrative careers that require college education) will be women and will be leftists. Is this what we want as a nation? It’s destabilizing at best.

Let’s take back the universities—don’t shun them.

It begs the question, just what is it that young men “do” these days, if they aren’t getting college degrees?
