I shouldn’t laugh but the photos of protesters in the pool are pretty funny.

Amazing how there was next to no news regarding Iraq for 4 years….

Makes one wonder what changed?

“On Sunday, al-Haeri announced he was stepping down and called on his followers to support Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei instead of the Shia spiritual center in Najaf, Iraq.”

Sounds like an Iranian coup attempt, on one of the World’s largest oil producers.

Is Sleepy Joe still on vacation?

"...we should have found our own sociopathic dictator to run Iraq."

That might have been difficult since most of the potential candidates have already been elected to the U.S. House & Senate...

Those milksops? They wouldn't last fifteen minutes in charge of Iraq. Their own "administrative assistant" would assassinate them and take over.

The only nation building I ever want to see from now on is a very large green glass pavement over belligerent countries in the Middle East.

There was some...Trump got it straightened out after the Obama disaster.

Now Biden.

Just the latest, massive Biden disaster.

Yes it does - and they are a client state of Russia / Putin.

Biden is the gift that keeps on giving.

Biden handed Aghanistan over to the Taliban. Now he’s going to hand Iraq over to Iran.

Iran is applying pressure. Sadrs gang is anti-Iranian (these days). This is an intra-Shiite argument.

Well, they are paying good money for this.
They can and do buy influence in various countries. Iraq, Lebanon and Syria are open markets for this.

The US Embassy in Baghdad is currently staffed.

But there remains a political crisis in Iraq and Iran never misses an opportunity to stir the pot.
