This time last year the cost of electricity per megawatt-hour (MWh) in both France and Germany sat at around 85 euros. On Friday, both countries set record highs, with the cost climbing by at least 1,000 per cent from last year to €850 in Germany and over €1,000 in France, Le Monde reports.
While the price of energy has been rising since the end of the lockdown measures across the world last summer, Europe, and Germany in particular, have been subject to soaring prices as a result of slowing flows of gas from Russia following the sanctions clash following the February invasion of Ukraine, with many thermal power plants using natural gas to generate electricity.
UK energy bills to rise by 80% in October as regulator announces hike
Britain’s energy regulator announced Friday it will raise its main cap on consumer energy bills to an average £3,549 ($4,197) from £1,971 a year, as campaign groups, think tanks and politicians call on the government to tackle a cost-of-living crisis.
The price cap limits the standard charge energy suppliers can bill domestic customers for their combined electricity and gas bill in England, Scotland and Wales, but is recalculated by Ofgem throughout the year to reflect wholesale market prices and other industry costs.
It covers around 24 million households. The 4.5 million households on prepayment plans face an increase from £2,017 to £3,608.
The loan forgiveness will not count as taxable income. It’s being done under pandemic relief cloak, so not taxable like the direct corona payments.

We have open borders with millions invading the US where terrorists,drugs, including enough phentenal to kill the world passes through, interest rates climbing through the roof,$17.00 per barrel tax just placed on crude oil, budget deficits as far as the eye can see, reckless spending that will destroy the dollar,shipping and commerce disrupted on a world wide scale,an endless array of destruction in less than two years by the obama led stolen elections purveyors of evil.
Republicans have a narrow edge on dems a bio-weapon attack on the world and the same machines that helped steal the 2020 election are still being used for a Nov. election. All this and 15% of voters show in in Miami at election time.
We are not getting the word out enough,we need to do more.

I was unable to note if their biased polling is 1) weighted and 2) registered or likely voters.—neither tends to favor Rs.
