WSJ: US is preparing for a special military mission in Ukraine
theinteldrop.com ^ | Aungust 26, 2022

The United States of America intends to assign a special name to the military mission in Ukraine and put an active American general at its head. This fact is direct evidence that Washington intends to switch to direct intervention, which may also mean the transfer of American military contingent to Ukraine in order to conduct special military operations, which significantly increases the escalation in the region. Information on this subject is published by The Wall Street Journal.

As follows from the data presented, Washington will unite into a single mission and appoint a responsible high-ranking officer who will lead the American program to train the Ukrainian military and provide assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The appearance of the so-called curators indicates that the United States intends to directly intervene in the situation, which causes very serious concerns due to possible clashes in the region on a completely different scale, which, by the way, is not hidden in Ukraine either.

“This is a formal recognition by Washington of the fact that the American army is taking part in specific hostilities. And this significantly speeds up all procedures for the transfer of weapons and shells.– said Ukrainian politician Borislav Bereza.

At the moment, there are no official explanations from Washington on this matter, however, the situation indicates that tension in the region will only increase, moreover, the transfer of the American army to Ukraine under the guise of instructors is not excluded.

“.. Where the hell is the EU, let them deal with it...”

Permission to throw a dose of reality on all this...
I predict Europe will NOT freeze over the winter has is being predicted. Before things go totally south for them, I predict they will sit down with the Russians in some un-official capacity and make it clear they don’t want anything further to do with this, and deliver the clear message “We’re not America”. They all but cut off the weapons and cash support.

Next I’ll suspect they will start being very hesitant about allowing U.S. Armed forces in the ports and on their runways. This will not be broadcasted in our media, of course.

Why do I predict this happening? You see, the European countries have been around a lot longer than this one, and its all going to be about saving their own necks. They, unlike this place, see themselves being around for another for at least another millennia.

Compare that to the U.S., who’d government can’t think past the next elections, and whose public officials can’t think past the next campaign contribution.

So the current administration decides to pick a fight with Russia, China, Planet Earth (via ‘climate’), while at the same time preparing for their most ‘dangerous’ threat - the people who pay for it all.

Frankly, I don’t like their odds.

just my $0.02

Ok. Already two on this thread attacking the source.

Another article here:
Is the US mission to support Ukraine getting a named operation?
Its from the Army Times, and also cites the WSJ article. As both say, this doesn't sound like a done deal yet. But abjectly stupid if US troops are injected directly.

Which brings to mind the question: what has been going on in Ukraine that would have the Deep State conduct an impeachment and risk a war to cover things up?

That "heroic" story about the extraction of a US weapons specialist several months ago died a pretty quick crib death.

When Soviet pilots attacked American pilots in Korea and Vietnam, did that mean Soviet Union was ‘formally’ (I think you meant ‘formally’) at war with US?

Asking for friends…

Send them no money. I don’t care about Ukrainians or Russians.

Why should I care? I don’t.

The people running this country right now are the dumbest sunsabitches ever to hold offices.

We are in grave danger because of them.

Hopefully, it’s the hill they die on.”

Unfortunately it won’t be them dying on any hill, it will be the rest of us paying the consequences of their actions.

“This is madness. The entire fjb admin should be recursed from this mess due to participation of prior and ongoing corruption in Ukraine. Where the hell is the EU, let them deal with it.”

I recurse them each and every day without fail.

I think that they are standing up an American Military organization to manage the continuous training of a flow of Ukrainian Military personnel. But I doubt that will be in Ukraine - perhaps Poland, Germany or the UK; likely a mix of locations, for different skills.

This is insanity … and both the Left and the media own all of the horrific consequences due to the election they stole.

Another Potential disaster of a military operation run by one of the Lousiest Commander in Chief that the United States has ever had.

Between a lousy CIC to a poorly led DOD and General Staff we are going to have a serious issue come future military confrontations with serious competitors.

I don’t wish serving in a war led by anyone in this Clowns administration or DOD.

“Ukraine would be air/ground and Taiwan naval”

China has more than enough guided missiles to take out the entire Pacific fleet in 10 minutes. What then, nukes? China has hundreds of thousands of its citizens here, among them military assets ready to sabotage our electrical grid and perhaps unleash bioweapons. You idiot warmonger are clueless.

And what happens when the Russians kill a bunch of American soldiers there?

Well, usually that would mean we will kill a bunch of theirs.

While no US troops have ever experienced the heavy artillery used in Ukraine, the Russians certainly have no experience of the vertical envelopment the US Air Force can perform, and no experience fighting ground forces capable of combined arms maneuver warfare.

The longer the war goes on the more degraded Russian military capability becomes, and the greater the temptation to put an end to the war through a decisive engagement.

Only if the Pacific fleet stupidly steams within missile range, which is unlikely.

And we have probably had far more access to China's infrastructure than anyone realizes, so the infrastructure attacks can work both ways.

In any case, the economic dislocation would be wrenching for both countries although worse for the Chinese since they are dependent on seaborne food, fuel and raw materials.

It's hard to believe I'm on FR with so many posters wetting their pants about China or Russia.

If one side gets beat bad by the other it just might escalate to nuclear.

I don't think it will end well.
