So WAS “Deplorable“

Deplorable was never insulting. It was amusing. I wear the term proudly. It came from Hilary. Not from rush.

Sure he was. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a drive to pull the US into a war it didn’t want regardless of the warnings. You’re correct about the USSC packing. He desperately wanted it and Congress ended up fixing it so he couldn’t.

Some people cry about his passing. I say we got lucky he died when he did. He was on his way to being King.

“Deplorable was never insulting. It was amusing. I wear the term proudly.”

All true. The point was that HILLARY thought it was insulting when she said it. We grabbed it and ran with it. It was very cool. Much like when PINO Joe threw out “Ultra MAGA” as an insult. Again, we glommed on to it immediately.

No. Originally the point was, my point was, that when Rush said ‘Trumpists’ I was insulted. He didn’t recognize him or us for wanting to fix things. Rush was an establishment GOPer. He was horrified having to read Cruz versus trump approval numbers. He acted angry with his staff once when he asked them for the correct numbers, and incredulous deflated having been corrected after the results of a Cruz v Trump debate judgement/polling came in.

Ge was one of the only smart ones to suppress his Trump hatred after Trump win but he did not like him

When he used the term ‘Trumpist’ he meant it as an insult

To have Rush call you an idiot for supporting Trump was a world of difference from having Hilary call you an idiot for supporting trump

So please let it go.

“Ge (Rush) ... did not like him (Trump).

I recall riding in the car on St. Pete Beach after Trump had announced his run. Rush was on and was practically gushing about what a great person Trump is. They had been golf partners for years.

One story he told was that they were playing golf on Easter Sunday and Trump’s phone kept ringing. He’d answer it, and continue to play. Finally Rush asked if there was something going on, if he needed to quit.

Trump told him that he probably was going to be late for the family dinner, but he had promised Rush that he’d play and he planned on finishing the game. Rush finished the story saying that Trump’s word was his bond and he is 100% trustworthy based on all the years they had been friends. I never forgot that story.

It didn’t sound like he disliked Trump in ANY way.

That would have been after he got the nomination

Point is Trumpist was a term used for being a prick against anyone not pushing for anyone but trump. For rush it was Cruz for a long time.

It was an insult meant to be so

Stay on topic.

The subject YOU raised was that Rush didn’t like Trump. Period. “as Pres.” wasn’t the topic. Rush DID like Trump.

First line of the article:

“Now that Rep. Liz Cheney has lost her primary to a Trumpist Republican in Wyoming, it’s…”

Even strict headline readers could follow this.

Early comment:

“What does “Trumpist” mean?
Trump isn’t particularly ideological.
Does the writer mean conservative?”

My reply:
“ ‘What does “Trumpist” mean?”
Rush used to use this term. It was insulting. Rush was a Cruz supporter.”

You say:
“The subject YOU raised was…”

No. I did not raise the question of what is a ‘Trumpist’.

That said, when Rush used that term that he coined, do you think maybe it was derogatory as it is used in the first line of this hit piece?

Cheney as AG? I spit my DC out, but it fell short of my screen. I use a 40” monitor that is 6 feet away, but the floor between caught it.

That woman should be on a Crab boat in AK in November. Let her find out what she is qualified for, that is crab bait.
