I’m shocked that he was visibly intoxicated after blowing only .082.

He is an elderly person. There could have been some interaction with prescription drugs, adult beverages and food.

Anyone else would be looking at a $10.000 fine high risk insurance and a few other things.

$150.00 is quite a bit more than $10.000. :-) Seriously, for a first time DUI, even with an accident, there's no way the fine would be anywhere close to $10k. As for insurance, that's totally outside of the court system. His insurance premiums will certainly increase, though given his wealth I'm sure he couldn't care less about that.

0.082? Not guilty!

That was a couple hours after the accident. The dash cam of him doing the field sobriety test clearly shows that he was polluted. He could barely stand up without leaning on the patrol car.

FTA: and five days in jail, with credit for time served

What time did he serve?
Is it the hours he took to sober up?

Where is the interview of the victim?
Did he get lots of money from Pelosi?
Did they threaten the victim?

there’s no way the fine would be anywhere close to $10k.

I had a coworker who was busted for a DUI here in Los Angeles her fine was $12.000 with attorney fees she lost her insurance and had to go into a high risk and payment program.

You may want to check up on things before for jump the gun.

I guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I said there is no way the fine would be $10k for a first-time DWI. I didn't say the fine couldn't be $10k for a DWI. Multiple DWIs and an accident with injury could result in a very high fine. What happened to your friend is irrelevant to this discussion without knowing the circumstances.

He was hammered, .08 BAC after a two hour wait, meaning he was closer to .12 at the time of the crash. Two glasses of wine my A*s.

No way the fine would be $10k for a first-time DWI.
DUI’s cost range on many issue involved.
1.Pull over
2.property damage
3.Someone hurt in accident (felony)
4.Resisting
Your comprehension on issues are limited you better learn how to read more it’s part of growing up.

The few people I know who got DUI in CA spent over 5k in fines.
On another note, a bit of a nothing special Porsche he is driving around.
Looks like a total write off based on accident.

Alright, I'll do your work for you.

Here is a link to the DUI statute in California:

What is a DUI in California?

Here is a link to the California statute specifying penalties for DUI in California:

What are the penalties for DUI in California?

Assuming you can read and are sober enough to read, you will see that the maximum allowable fine for a first DUI in California is $1,000.

When you learn to read and and/or are sober enough to read please report back.

Did they find the bimbo that was with him in the crash who ran off?

[Why would an ‘empty’ passenger seat air bag deploy if there was no one in it?]

Possible. But methinks it was a BIG busted blonde bimbo with luscious curves and NO wrinkles.....

Probably a couple bottles of Viagra/Cialis in the glove box...
