I’m a bit confused by this. The president is the commander-in-chief of the DC National Guard. So Pentagon approval is not required to activate the DC Guard.
Why is Mayor Bowser talking to the Pentagon? She should be talking to Biden. Biden can activate the DC Guard with the stroke of a pen.

Actually, no. The Dems wanted Trump to fall for that trap on Jan. 6; he didn't. The president can authorize that troops be available for the states, or DC, but cannot activate them. That's on the local authorities.
