The cancer that is “lower expectations”..

There is little doubt that inner city kids often are dealt some pretty damn bad hands in life, but letting them coast on lower expectations doesn’t help them in life at all.

Hey look, I graduated.. but I read at a 4th grade level and can’t do 6th grade level math.. because the system just accepts lower expectations... how is that helping them?

When everyone is granted a college education, no standards required, then no one has a college education.

I know a black female with a M.S. in Electrical Engineering...that doesn’t understand why people don’t consider her to be “technical”. To those that are highly technical it’s obvious whom aren’t. An EE degree is one of the toughest, getting a Masters in it and demonstrating daily that you’re weak technically shows there is something wrong.

She’s a great person...but I know I’m not the only one perplexed.
