The Iberian Peninsula holds around 30% of total Europe’s LNG processing capacity and yet it is not well connected to the rest of Europe.

A plan to build a pipeline from Spain to France in order to get this natural gas across Europe was canceled in 2019 due to economic and environmental reasons….

The EU is panicking. That’s what happens when you put your trust in senile Joe and his sanctions. War cheerleaders, take note.

Fact is Vlad once again outplayed the West, he has dethroned the dollar, created a huge anti- American alliance, demonstrated the weakness of NATO and the West, all the while raking in billions while the West plunges deeper into debt, record inflation, and historic shortages.

Strange how the West who wanted to cripple Russia are now the ones being crippled.

Maybe the solution is to eat a lot of kraut and have an anal hose system to retrieve natural gas. Just a suggestion.

Spain is pushing this project, but France is not on board.

Spain has a lot of LNG terminal capacity, and a relatively short route to connect existing pipelines to the French border.

France would have a much longer segment to get it to Germany, which is what the Spaniards want.

The French are debating other options, like more French LNG terminal capacity, and may be positioning for Germany and/or Spain to pay more of the cost to construct it.

From the article: “...and EU sanctions are hurting Moscow financially”

...therefore, it must be true. LOL!!!

In other words, stretching a 2-year process into 4 years, as far as Germany is concerned.

Take that, Putin!!!

“… he has dethroned the dollar…”
*********************************
I wouldn’t credit Putin. The actions of the Biden puppet masters are having the effect of weakening the dollar. Intentionally? The jury’s out on that but I think it’s more than mere incompetence but, of course, they have an abundance of that.

--- "he EU is panicking."

We were resident in Germany when the change from Deutschmark to Euro was sold -- marketed -- to the European public. Even as of today, not all of Europe has adopted this central bank currency. In the conversion, we calculated a loss to is of about 15 percent in the initial exchange. Going forward, the European Union and especially its ruling European Commission has morphed into a distant, elite and chattering class which believes its own press and fantasies. The press generally has been fawning and the fantasies simply incorrect.

The EU has many reasons to panic. Voters in many EU "member" nations are becoming restive, and the politicians and lapdog media cannot hide what is happening. "Green" came to dominate, with its "Red" ideology at its core, and is failing, rather in the same way as the Soviet Union's did. And much faster historically.

The idea of ruling the world in a multi-polar world has been a fantasy like unto all historical fantasies about "unite!" Dictatorships like oligarchies like aristocracies fail. The EU is failing, with Brexit having been only the first. Time will tell. Time is already telling. No single nation nor single entity like NATO or the UN can be the world's "policeman." But while trying to be they have and can do much damage.

The EU is panicking because the "war" is lost though the final battles are still being fought.

We could be moving toward World War the way things are going. Desperate people put overwhelming pressure on failing governments to provide and boom!

You wonder at some point, terrorists trying to sabotage the remaining gas pipelines in Europe, a couple of well-placed explosives could cause some real damage to the gas supplies in Europe considering the current situation.

It is difficult to say what the true goal of the Blinken administration is because it is not known where the true allegiance lies.

Spain wants to sell, Germany wants to buy, but France is the middlemen, who can’t be cut out of the deal. They want to drive a better price for themselves.

The mineral rights payments by American gas companies sure are nicer at $9.33 than they were at $2.03. The heating bills, not so nice...

Longer term/Mid term, this makes sense, as Spain is already connected by pipeline to Algeria, a top ten producer - but it is not going to help the hard near term (two year) transition off of Russian supply.

Hey, we can restart that Plan by bringing in some North African labor to build a Pipeline into France!

We call those North African laborers Moors for short, it'll work out great, especially for the Frogs.
