A museum focused on a single historical event — and one that was documented extensively live on TV and the internet with literally millions of hours of footage available — doesn’t seem like something that would have strong public appeal.
I am also sure that all of NYC tourist revenues are down over the last two years. We Freepers have all discussed the fact that none of us want to go to NYC anymore. We tend to more conservative than the general population, but most people(even liberals)do not want to go to NYC on vacation anymore.
For example, I have attended the Westminster Kennel Club show multiple times. For decades it was held at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. In 2021 it was held at the Lyndhurst Mansion in Terrytown, NY. This is about 30 miles north of NYC in Westchester County. An expensive suburb. The show was supposed to return to Manhattan in 2022. When the WKC polled people, they overwhelmingly voted to keep the show in Terrytown instead of Manhattan. There are a lot of liberals/homosexuals involved in dog showing. A much higher percentage than the normal public. Even they do not want to go to NYC anymore.
