I allow others to say that without getting too worked up
over it. I know there is disagreement here.

At the time Europe was getting a lot of his petroleum products
through the Straights of Hormuz.

I’m not going into all of it, but Hussein was very problematic
and we went in.

The Arab world pretty much backed us when we did. That
alone was a real improvement, that they trusted us enough
to join in.

I didn’t think it was a bad thing then. I don’t today.

Bush was on the level of Jimmy Carter > IMO. Yes he was
a little better than that, but not by much.

Cheney had leadership experience, and some savvy. It
seemed to me he did the heavy lifting.

I didn’t care.

I remember how glad I was when Bush was elected, instead of Gore, and Clinton was finally gone.

And I remember how much the Democrats hated him, and slandered him continuously (Hitler!!)... a lot like they later did Trump. But its funny, because essentially GW Bush was a moderate Democrat. He gave the Democrats a blank check to do anything they wanted as long as they kept funding the war.

Also funny, I remember the Democrats literally, not figuratively, but literally voting for the war and within five minutes jumping in front of a camera to denounce a war they just voted for.

To this day Democrats think they hate Bush, and they don’t know why. Like I say, he was a moderate Democrat. Better than Gore, I mean... who isn’t? But no conservative.
