All of the Big Three are making a huge mistake going to EV production , I think they will end up bankrupt.
The plan is to destroy the blueprints so that future historians will claim that their vehicles were fake!
;-)
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 with 205,000 miles, but it runs good. I also have a 2016 Chevy Cruze with OnStar.
The Chevy can be disabled remotely by OnStar. I wonder if they will do that to people who don’t conform to EV usage.
I met the brother of a friend at a party a couple days ago. He spent his career in the US government on renewables, global warming, and geopolitics, so he was naturally a true believer. I was shocked that we had a polite and insightful discussion that centered around mineral supply chain challenges, child labor, the lack of environmental laws and regard in other countries where the minerals are mined, the fact the Chinese are gobbling up minerals all over the world, and the huge toxic waste from “green” energy.
Seems like the next line in the song will not apply.
and I can take or leave it if I choose.
I’ve got a baby tractor with a 3 cyl mechanically injected diesel that I’m sure would run on most any fuel oil, vegetable oil etc. I could travel modern Amish style. Only goes 5mph though and town is 20 miles away.
Fun thing about those 50 year old cars... no computers that break and ruin the car. That also means no emissions sensors that break and ruin the car. Just old fashioned springs, machined parts, and an engine that runs without a lot of complexity.
I’m an electrical distribution designer, and I have work until I am dead, and I’m only in my 40’s.
Our workforce is full of old guys as well, and HR won’t fill a position until they are gone. So all that knowledge is gone.
Lots of firms are hiring people with little electrical knowledge and just figuring that they will figure it out. It’s crazy…
The new one comes with an infinitely long extension cord. /sarc
There won’t be a Daytona 500 - or any long road races.
EVs start failing after 10 minutes of wide-open-throttle. There will be ZERO road races.
Daytona 0.500...........................
My local Cadillac dealer recently lost its franchise and now sells used cars. I read Cadillac required its franchises to buy $200K of electric car diagnostic equipment or lose their franchise. My local dealer must have chosen to give up on Cadillac.
Same with the Ford SUV and Chevy Tahoe that cops buy.
Maybe they'll try solar panels on the roof. After a while their top speed might be 5 miles an hour, but isn't that a small price to pay for progress? /s
This whole thing is a plot to keep humans inside cities and out of the countryside. Population control! Gather them up, then exterminate them .. that’s their plan.
Son and I just watched Hunger Games last night. Raining today so we’ll be watching the other three in the series. Seems like the future is going to be a combo of that, Elysium and Idiocracy.
There’s a strange thing happening here with new car dealerships.
They are being bought out by a single entity holding company.
Family owned dealerships have practically disappeared here. If you want to buy a new car, you would have to travel at least 65 miles away to not buy one from this company...........................
I look forward to President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho…
Fiat Chrysler will be one of the first to fall flat on their faces.
LOL. Neon and muscle car are three words that don’t belong together.
