Oz touts American manufacturing, 'burn pit' bill, in visit to Western Pennsylvania
90.5 WESA ^ | 3-Aug-22 | Julia Zenkevich

Dr. Mehmet Oz, Pennsylvania’s Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, visited the Pittsburgh region Tuesday to argue that government regulations disadvantage American businesses — and boost competitors such as China.

On a day that later featured a "National Night Out" appearance in McCandless, Oz also expressed support for the "PACT Act," a measure to provide free health care to veterans exposed to toxic chemicals during their military service.

“A lot of inexpensive products are made by competitors,” Oz told supporters after a tour of a Crescent Township pan manufacturer. “We don’t allow American industry to thrive. We shackle ourselves.” While Oz touted American-made goods, he also criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. That trip was strongly opposed by the Chinese, who claim the island as their own. Oz said he worried China could retaliate by shutting down facilities that make products Americans rely on, such as lithium batteries.

“When Nancy Pelosi flies off to Taiwan to make a statement, they could, if they wanted, shut that down,” he said.

Oz also voiced support for legislation that would provide health care for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits, Agent Orange and other carcinogens. Hours before the bill cleared final passage in the Senate, Oz said during a brief interview with WESA, “These folks risked their lives.

Yes, and so far, Dr Azz has supported the same legislation that Fetterman supports.

I have yet to see them differ on a current policy debate.

She was awful man! You got Oz, thats the candidate we have. Do what you want to help elect Fetterman (including sitting out or voting third party) just don’t complain on this site about anything that communist Fetterman does! Wasn’t there some army vet or someone we could have ran in this race? The three choices weren’t that great. The guy Trump backed is the candidate though 🤷‍♂️ so let’s give him our support and hold his feet to the fire. He’s one and done if he crosses Trump.

Dr Azz has supported the same legislation supported by his Democratic Party opponent

This is a gross misrepresentation.

On top of his mental impairment, John Fetterman is a far out crackpot.

Fetterman favors every CCP virus mandate you can think of.

He wants to strip police of qualified immunity.

He supports a 100% ban on fracking.

He's "neutral" between Israel and the PLO.

He wants to legalize every drug you can think of, and even provide them at taxpayer expense.

He supports life changing "gender affirmation" surgery for 5 year olds.

He's opposed to deporting illegals even after conviction for heinous crimes.

He's against using drones to take out terrorists, as just happened a couple of days ago in Afghanistan.

The man makes Joe Biden looks like an ultra-MAGA Republican. If elected, he would be one of the most far out leftwing socialists ever elected to the Senate.

I too have misgivings about Dr. Oz. But there's simply absurd to claim that there's basically no difference between him and the extremist kookery of John Fetterman.

And it’s BS that they do not differ on anything,...

Since you need to lie about what I said, you are no better than Fetterman.

Read my post, not your interpretation.

But, if you want to compare, let do it:

1) Oz praised China’s lockdowns and mandates until he declared he was running for office

2) Oz supports more use of social workers instead of police

3) Oz voiced concerns about emissions from fracking

4) Oz is muslim. You know where he stands on Israel.

5) Oz promoted all sorts of whacky alternative drugs on his show only to find out he was invested in those companies

6) Oz supports puberty blockers and gender affirmation surgery for children

7) Oz supported amnesty for those who lived here

8) No idea where Oz stands on drones

9) Oz supported Obamacare and the assault weapons ban.

But I NEVER said they are the same on the issues. I have been referring to current legislation in the Senate where Oz has supported everything Fetterman has supported.

FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSES DR. MEHMET OZ

“Dr. Oz’s opponent, John Fetterman, was invited to the conference but chose not to attend. John Fetterman’s failure to meet with leaders of local law enforcement follows his recent refusal to respond to a letter from Pennsylvania sheriffs requesting that John Fetterman explain and reverse a number of controversial and dangerous positions on crime, drugs, and defunding the police.”

Yes, Fetterman has been a big “defund the police” nut case.

Agree......

Reviewing his posts, I think Eric L is probably a Fetterman troll. He likes to post anti-Oz stuff from Fetterman’s commercials. Fetterman is known in PA for his penchant for dirty social media tactics.

I have misgivings about Oz, but I think he’s salvageable if the voters hold his feet to the fire. I don’t think he’s a “Romney”.

I’ve heard a local report that he is being given speech therapy and physical therapy after his stroke. Why aren’t Republicans digging into this and exploiting it? Oz has zero ads up in western Pennsylvania. How does he expect to win when he’s practically invisible? Who’s running his campaign? Does he even have a campaign? I see no evidence of one.

Election is 3 months away. Too early for Ozzy to burn is small stash of money. Voters are notorious for short memories.
