Minneapolis dominates Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District, but the district is also home to three-quarters of a million residents, about half of whom live in first-ring suburbs.
DFL-endorsed Rep. Ilhan Omar has represented this diverse district for two terms and is vying for a third against the strongest opponent she has faced to date: former Minneapolis City Council Member Don Samuels. After interviewing both and considering their records, the Star Tribune Editorial Board is endorsing Samuels in the Aug. 9 DFL primary.

Oh no they’ll make her cry ,then scream and shout DEATH TO AMERICA
Not familiar with “DFL”. What is it?

Democratic Farmer Labor.
Is that a combination of all three or is it a different party altogether?
It’s the minnesota version of democratic party.
If she’s re-elected and if there’s a big enough red wave to sweep out McCarthy the next Congress should expel her due to fraudulent citizenship and thus ineligibility. It wouldn’t change the way her seat votes, but a less dishonest woke rep would be casting them.

I appreciate the “education.”
DFL = Democrat-Farmer-Labor
Don’t be deceived, getting rid of the fraudulent Omar (fake name) is a good thing, but Samuels is a liberal left winger all the way.
I like what most of us call it in Minnesota - Dumb F***ing Liberal. That’s it in a nutshell.
The Democrat Party of Minnesota wasn’t radical enough, so the larger Farmer-Labor Party merged with the smaller Democrat Party in the 1940s, which was led by the popular Democrat Hubert Humphrey.
The resulting DFL is affiliated with the national Dems, but its history is different.
