Suffolk University has a new poll out, ... what is more striking is how little support the other possible candidates get.

Vice President Mike Pence is at 7%, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WV) at 3%, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 1%.

I could've gladly told them that for half of what they paid for their stupid poll.

The 2024 ticket will be Trump-DeSantis.

Thing is that we cannot afford to lose in 2024. Otherwise, this nation is toast. I will support the one with the best chance to win.

Trump isn’t a distraction, he’s a THREAT to Totalitarian Leftist Federal Government. Otherwise the Left wouldn’t suffer so greatly from Trump derangement syndrome (TDS).

Exactly!

The donor class likes him just fine, but he’s despised by the base at CPAC, on line including FR, and every where else paleocons and right populists gather. And Jan 6 isn’t even on the menu.

Stick a fork in him and turn him over, he’s done.

Cheney - Christie is a ticket I could vote for! The only better ticket would be Turtle - Mittens!

I hope you're kidding. I think you're kidding, but ...

No it won't. Trump would never pick someone who overshadows him. Expect to be disappointed with his VP nod.

And DeSantis would likely decline the offer.

It seems to me, Pence and his aids were the cause of one hell of a lot of bad hurt on Trump. And still are.

The correct comparison is where were candidates in 2014 to 2016 not 2015.

Trump will be 78 in 2024. He needs to do what he currently is doing; shining light in areas Washington doesn’t want it shined, and explaining what’s really going on behind the facade. We desperately need someone outside Washington to tell the truth about who’s doing what and why, especially the Republicans who are more democrat than Republican.

I vote for whoever is going to protect and defend the constitution. That’s the only job description listed in the oath of office. Trump did that. He stated he would do it. He’s motivated by a provable love of country to do it

DeSantis would likely be very good as a president, I don’t know. He hasn’t done it. He will be framed, threatened, bribed and the same would be done to any associate, family member and assistant. Bar none. Once he is front runner or by some miracle in the White House.

At that time one might be saying either trump should have been doing that or hey trump never. Did that.

We don’t know. People like to put DeSantis in there like a Ken doll. They extrapolate what he’ll do based on what they want him to do. Based on the hatred they feel for trump as they buy what the media says about trump

But they really think DeSantis can get into the presidency (when he’s not even running) without all the crap trump got thrown at him. Without a massive cheating machine

They think democrats will be humbled by DeSantis and that the media, the dem machine and the world leaders will bow to him

They’ll rip him up. How will he withstand it

People could do well to realize how well trump withstood it. He was a seasoned New York and international businessman from a solid family rich in education, business and success for generations.

Every one of his associates was put out of commission. When people believe they won’t do that to DeSantis they are being very foolish

I have wondered about that. Is there legal hurdle to a single state ticket?

If it Trump and DeSantis head-to-head, and more Americans become familiar DeSantis, Trump could be in trouble.
Or not.

What does "become familiar DeSantis" mean exactly?

Surrounding yourself with yes men and controlling the information as a Governor is one thing, dealing with a vile viscous swamp, back stabbing Senators and Congress is another.

I think if DeSantis does ever decide to run he's in for a rude awakening. And it won't be all political.

Wish in one hand and crap in the other. See which one fills up first.

DeSantis will not run against Trump.

I can only speak to my beliefs and my friends. We like both candidates and consider them both short-term in the case of President Trump and short & long term in the case of DeSantis leaders for the populist conservative movement.

Trump will do significant damage if he announces Presidential run before mid-terms and DeSantis will hurt the movement by announcing his candidacy as long as President Trump runs for reelection.

The rewriting or the 2015 Primary is hilarious. Trump lost Iowa to “Conservative” star Ted Cruz. Trump took that loss and made it a net negative for Cruz by turning Carson supporters wildly against Cruz. By the time we rolled into super Tuesday we were being told that you should vote strategically for Cruz in Texas, Rubio in Florida and the mailman in Ohio. So we’re clear. There was a basic agreement that each would not campaign against the other in their respective states. Rubio, by the way, had Florida basically to himself for 2 weeks and was supported by a very popular Former Govenor who had a very conservative record (sound familiar?). Trump lost in Ohio to the mailman who was govenor there and won no where else. He crushed Cruz in Texas and wrecked Rubio in Florida. All the while being destroyed by the “Conservative” media and a “Moderate” Republican who was still very popular in the party, Romney. Trump crushed these folks. Trump, funny enough, lost to Cruz in Wisconsin (a state Cruz would have lost in the General bt 10%). DeSantis is another Cruz as it relates to Trump. The only difference will be that he may come off as slightly more likable but not much. The Musks and Rogan’s will push him hard though. By the way, DeSantis is eerily quiet about the primaries (because he’s not trying to save the Republic, just trying to get himself elected). It’s easy to carry no baggage when your not crossing the country fighting for its future (which is what Trump is doing).

They won’t go “head to head” because they are both on the same side. Trump won’t call DeSAntis “Lyin’ Ron”, because he isn’t a liar. Trump won’t call DeSantis “Low Energy” because he’s not low energy.

Lots of people want to see a big fight - but it’s not going to happen - Trump is essentially running for re-election again as a popular incumbent.

If he wants it, he will get the nomination just as easily as he did in 2020 - and DeSantis would be a fool to challenge him.

DeSantis is no fool.

Once again, we have a liberal hoping to distract from Trump to find anyone they can to run against him.
