as a former canadian, lemme explain this to American Freepers: Inuits are NOT First Nations (or “native canadians”) First Nations receive LOTS of $$$ monthly (aka welfare) from the canadian govt. since the 70’s as “white guilt”. Around $5000 canadian average. Inuits pissed that they are not categorized under First Nations and not getting any grease money, sense that now’s the time to get the govt to send $$$.
Not to mention that the Canadian government has built the homes and water purification plants and given the money to provide education.
But the band chiefs and band council prefer their big houses and Ford 3500’s, as well as their trips to Vegas and other niceties.
