Not to mention that the Canadian government has built the homes and water purification plants and given the money to provide education.

But the band chiefs and band council prefer their big houses and Ford 3500’s, as well as their trips to Vegas and other niceties.

I was THIS close when I was younger to marry a FN woman. Super hot. The rule was that any husband is automatically in the “gravy train” and part of the tribe in BC. Meaning I would get around $4000 per month and at least 15 hectares of land. May be I should have taken it lol.

They dont even pay taxes for crying out loud. Back in HS, I had a part-time job in Vancouver answering calls for Pizza Hut deliveries. ALL orders to the reservation was FREE.

Same here in Australia. Those Aboriginals smart enough to game the system do extremely well while the others continue to live in poverty. The money has been poured into land councils for 50 years with very little improvement to show for it. It just seems to feed more activism. A sceptical person might believe that some don’t want to see decent change as it might stop the gravy train.

They may have stood a better chance against the invaders had they progressed technically beyond fire and chipped rocks when they had the chance
