Supreme Court won't allow Biden immigration policy to move forward

The Supreme Court rejected a policy by the Biden administration to prioritize the deportation of illegal immigrants who pose a threat to national security or public safety.

In a 5-4 decision, the court’s order freezes the policy for now, but justices said it would hear arguments on the case, likely in late November. Conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the three liberal judges who would have allowed Biden to initiate the directive.

The decision comes after the administration’s emergency request to the court following differing determinations from federal appeals courts. The case stems from a September order from Homeland Security that stopped deportation unless the person committed acts of terrorism, espionage or serious criminal conduct that threatens public safety.

Nothing he does holds up in court

But it doesn't matter. They will keep right on defying the law and nothing will be done about it.

Biden’s entire immigration policy is illegal. Why does the Supreme Court bother to nibble around its edges?

I see nothing wrong with prioritizing the deportation of illegal immigrants who pose a threat to national security or public safety. But that’s not what this administration is doing.

“Barrett is not a consrvative.”

Thank you... she is NOT a conservative at her core. So disappointed that she was nominated by PDJT.

Rats breaking the law and violating their oath to uphold the Constitution? Castrated RINOs hiding during it all? Business as usual. The Republic is finished.

But that’s not what this administration is doing.

Yep. It's disappointing that the NY Post would use such misleading language.

As I understand it, the Supreme Court hears cases based on specific legal issues presented. They nibble around the edges because nobody brought a case which asks that the entire immigration policy be struck down.

anyone know better than me, please chime in, thanks.

It’ll probably be Cubans and others that would likely vote Republican that are deemed a threat to national security

ACB is another Sandra Day O'Conner. She will be wrong a lot more than she is right. Some here were raising the alarm bells about her, but I'm sure McConnell and Co. weren't going to approve of a true conservative as the nominee.

Does no one here remember the 3 recent huge impactful USSC rulings of 6-3? Abortion = sending authority back too the States via 10th Amendment. NY Gun law = 2nd Amendment support. EPA overstepping its authority = huge slap down on a bureaucracy run amok, and message to others. She was in the majority on all 3 IIRC.

I don't know what the story is on this immigration ruling, but sounds like it was about technicalities. I believe Justice Barrett is a good choice by Trump.

So I have not seen the answer to this question. Does this mean that Trump’s policies are still in place when it come to deportation?

For all the great talents he has, President Trump has a lengthy history of poor judgment of character.
