That guarantees you nothing. You can arm everyone in town and come crunch time the most likely scenario is that most will flee, a percentage will freeze, and a small percentage will act as the Indiana hero did. It's never going to be if enough people are armed. It's will always be right person at the right time.
I don’t care about a “guarantee”. I care about odds. The more “stand up” citizens armed at a given location at a given point in time ups the odds of taking out the trash in a short amount of time, possibly lessening the effects the attacker intended.
Maybe it wouldn’t help much, but in such situations, a little “help” may mean everything in the end.
I’m used to you bloviating but I fail to see whatever point you’re trying to make in #18.
Is there any OBJECTIVE evidence of your assertion? I submit that people who go to the trouble of arming themselves and, God forbid, go to classes, get their CCW and take additional training are MORE likely to intervene than the population at large.
Other than Uvalde, are there examples of armed citizens cowering in fear if they have the chance to intervene?
Guarantee? No. A deterrent, perhaps? I’m all for potential mass shooters being afraid to act.
