Because the pipeline was a Chevron-led project, and Joe said he’d refuse SEC and environmental sign-off on the funding.

“Why can’t Europe and Israel go ahead, and build and pay for it themselves, without American support?”

There is no “American” support, unless you mean American companies and shareholders looking to make money. But, there are efforts underway to have non-American companies fund and undertake the project. The non-American capital markets just aren’t as robust and your pipeline companies are the best in the world.

By American support, I mean whatever the article meant when it said:

I wasn't sure what the article meant.
