Musk: Time for Trump to 'Sail Into Sunset'

Elon Musk responded to Donald Trump's recent criticism by saying it was time for the former president to "hang up his hat & sail into the sunset."

Musk commented via Twitter after sharing a story about Trump on Saturday night calling the Tesla and SpaceX CEO a "bullsh*t artist."

"I don't hate the man, but it's time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset," Musk tweeted Monday night. "Dems should also call off the attack – don't make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the Presidency."

Musk's tweet came after Trump's appearance at a rally in Alaska, where the former president suggested the billionaire's move to buy Twitter was a ruse. Trump also called Musk a liar for saying he had never voted for a Republican.

After Musk’s "sunset" tweet, talk show host Joe Pags Pagliarulo asked the billionaire whether he had an issue with Trump's presidency, pointing out policies regarding energy independence, lower regulations, construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, and a the southern border.

"Yeah, but too much drama. Do we really want a bull in a china shop situation every single day!?" Musk tweeted. "Also, I think the legal maximum age for start of Presidential term should be 69."

Another Twitter follower asked Musk why he wouldn't support a 2024 GOP national ticket with Trump at the top and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the vice president nominee. DeSantis then could run in ’28 and ’32.

"Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America," Musk tweeted in response.

"If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win – he doesn’t even need to campaign."

The twitter deal is going into a hard ball negotiation/litigation stage. At issue is the fraudulent reps by twitter. It will be in court The courts hate Trump and the perception that Musk is an ally with Trump against twitter could be very bad for Musk. The most damaging thing for twitter is being exposed in public and the media is covering for them. A little Musk/Trump dust up media drama distances Musk from Trump and garners media coverage to focus public interest and attention to twitter's fraud, which benefits both Musk and Trump. For Trump twitter is exposed and undermined . For Musk, he either gets to beat twitter down in price for purchase to about half the current valuation and become the savior of twitter or he skates with no out of pocket costs and destroys twitter. Art of the deal.

he will negotiate a better price if he completes the purchase, or he will expose Twitter for the fraud it is.
My life won't change either way.
Explain how yours will

I used to respect you a lot. What happened to you? Got old? Got scared?

For me I will never MOVE ON from the steal. Only Trump getting back into office will SET THINGS RIGHT. This isn't about the politics of the day, it is about the republic itself and it's future going forward.

Anything less than absolute worship and devotion is an attack.

Elon's complaint is literally the "mean tweets" meme. 🤣

Now that the truth about EV’s not environmentally friendly (another one of Musk’s magical terms), and that there’s no way to make them so AND that people are pissed at the lack of usability in real world situations other than putt putting g around town, I saw him try to dump the Lbs (PR stunt ), and pick up gullible folks on the right looking for a hero.

He’s been sucking up to Trump first and then to DeSantis. Both know his game and how he’s playing it.

lol for him to go scorch earth on Trump if he thinks it will benefit his wallet and influence.

Elon Musk just confirming he really is a "Bullshit Artist"

Musk is responding to an attack on him by Trump - an attack that seems to have been completely unprovoked. I will vote for Trump in 2024 if he runs, but I've never been blind to his faults, or to Musk's faults, for that matter. I'm not going to get caught up in their childish insults of each other - they're both living billionaires lives. I'm not living a billionaire's life - I just want the country under competent leadership again.

Donald Trump was literally robbed of his second term. He deserves it. He still is out supporting the party every day. His endorsement is gold. His predictions are still coming true. The witch hunts will continue to fail. Elon likes to think hes the smartest guy in the room but this isnt always the case. Ive watched Trump annihilate folks like Elon for years. Trump has no problem calling people out. People like Musk do not like to be called out.

No cure for the "really nice IDIOT-SAVANT".

* * * *

Well said, central_va.  Yet Musk is certainly not the Intellectual-Yet-Idiot that Nassim Taleb talks about.

At least Musk has his own skin-in-the-game going up against Twitter.

Yet Trump's absolutely right: Musk slings the bull all the time.  And by calling Musk's bluff, Trump has reaffirmed that he's in charge.  Brilliant!

Musk's glitzy Tesla PR game has collided with a certain STEAM LOCOMOTIVE that can't be stopped.  He can no longer hide behind quick tweets and doing techie Q&A with pot-smoking Rogish Inquisitors.

Are Musk's public relations pyrotechnics sputtering out?  Has his rocket reached its zenith?  Now that he's forced to state his opinions on public policy and the politicians he likes, his game is exposed.

Or is Musk cultivating the GOPe and being buddy-buddy with Mitch McConnell?  Tell me it ain't so, Elon!

All Elon had was Trump is old, I was not impressed.

The only reason there was drama is because the Lib media drummed it up with there selective editing of Trumps words and their false and misleading reporting. As Mark Levin has said anyone who thinks they won’t do the same to anyone else is an idiot.

You can bet that Rinos are loving this “anybody but, Trump” nonsense. Elon is very new to Conservative Republicans...like a year or 2 and doesn’t know every damn thing.

Musk and Trump have a lot in common. All this is unnecessary, an unforced error on Trump’s part that doesn’t bring him any new supporters.

Trump will spend 4 years cleaning out the swamp. Then DeSantis can take over and keep it clean and on the right track. You elect DeSantis in 2024 he will be destroyed by 2028 and and progress made will revert. We need 12 years to get the country back.

Jack P. Took down the phony globalist Elon on Warroom. Jack said he searched to see if Elon has ever mentioned the CCP Prime Minister in any of his tweets and nothing since Elon has most of his manufacturing in China. Best thing for Elon is to STFU.
