Multiple Texas counties to declare border crisis an ‘invasion’ as numbers increase

The invasion declaration may put pressure on governors in Texas and Arizona to act on the matter

Multiple Texas counties on Tuesday will declare that the migrant crisis at the southern border is an "invasion," Fox News has learned, a move that could lead to similar declarations across the state.

Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan is expected to announce the move at a news conference Tuesday afternoon, along with a number of other officials from other counties who will join him.

Kinney County Attorney Brent Smith told Fox News Digital that he believes approximately 12 to15 counties could end up having declared an invasion by the end of the month.

With migrant numbers hitting historic levels, and with more than 239,000 migrant encounters in May alone, there has been considerable talk in conservative circles about the merits of declaring the crisis an "invasion" -- which could open up a number of potential legal avenues for states.

All of these counties (you’ve posted/mentioned) will declare a border crisis?

Excellent, if so!

Good thinking.

What response did you get from Abbott? It sounds like he needs to hear from you again.

As you say, something must be done now.

What took them so long? A couple million illegal aliens have already invaded.

I’d say they will because they have no choice.

Multiple Texas counties on Tuesday will declare that the migrant crisis at the southern border is an "invasion," Fox News has learned,......

I would hope this allows them to take defensive measures then without waiting for the Feds.......

this just sounds like a change of pronouns as in he/she/it

so what if they call it an invasion.

does that change anything.

By Constitution, and US Code, wouldn’t declaring an invasion authorize the right to repel invaders by US Citizens? In short, grab your gun and stop dropping lead regardless of civilian, LEO, or military status?

wait for the feds? The feds will probably fight them on anything they try to do. It’s disgusting that the funding for wall was fought by both dems and repubs yet we have $55 billion laying around to send to Ukraine.

It’s an election year. I’d be curious to know if those doing this are up for re-election.

The US Government organized an executed invasion of the country.

I’m disappointed in them.

Wondering why the Governor hasn’t declared an invasion yet as well.

..........I was out in Brewster County looking at some land to buy when we saw two Border Patrol SUV’s slowly driving through pastureland about 40 miles south of Alpine. They were probably a mile apart from each other.

The rancher I was with stopped on a high point and pulled out his binoculars. He looked and looked for a long time and then went “a-ha”...........and pointed in a direction and I looked through the binoculars. There, way out ahead of the BP was a line of migrants walking slowly through the brush.

It struck me like the whole affair was a “dance” of some kind. The migrants knew what they were about and so did the BP agents and they were both “just plowing forward to the beat of different drums”.

I wish Gov Abbott would declare that TEXAS will hire every Border Patrol Agent who want to quit & call them TEXAS RANGERS and then let them loose to close the border.

Texas has already decided to build a wall.

IF I lived there, I would give housing to any Texas Ranger that needed such.

He did-—And the Catholic Church was waiting for the arrivals with new bus tickets to spread the invaders all around the USA.

I am beyond pissed at the Catholic Church.
