Trump Won’t Rule Out DeSantis as VP — ‘I Get Along with Him’
Breitbart ^ | 30 Jun 2022 | PAM KEY

Posted on 07/01/2022 12:42:33 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday on Newsmax TV’s “Wake Up America” that he got along well with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) when asked about the possibility of a Republican Trump-DeSantis ticket in 2024.”

Host Rob Finnerty asked, “On 2024, 2.5 years from now, you haven’t said anything, you’ve hinted, you hinted Saturday night in Mendon, Illinois. Are Melania and Barron on board with a possible run again in 2.5 years?”

Trump said, “Well, they love our country, and they hate to see what’s happening. So at the right time, I’ll be saying what I want to do. But they do. They love our country, both. Barons is a young man, and Melania is a First Lady who was really loved. I will say that. I see the signs, ‘we love our First Lady.’ But they love our country, so I think they’ll do what has to be done if we decide to go that way.”

Finnerty asked, “Could you envision a world, sir, where there is a Trump, DeSantis, ticket in 2024?”

Trump said, “Well, I get along with him. I was very responsible for his success because I endorsed him, and he went up like a rocket ship.”

NO! The country needs him to remain as Governor of Florida!

Get a cuckold that does what he’s told.

I’d like to see DeSantis stay where he is. We’d like to retire down there one day, and not to a total shithole.

No, Trump finds someone who doesn’t want to be president, halfway through the term the VP resigns and De Santiago is appointed. At the end of Trumps term DeSantis is in perfect position to take the next 8 years.

Sorry folks but the country needs him more than Florida. Without a country you cannot have Florida....just think 12 years of conservative house cleaning! Me likey very much! Besides DeSantis can endorse his right hand man and start bringing him to the front for exposure. Anyone DeSantis endorses is OK by me.

But not balanced.

I used to buy into the "balanced ticket" idea, but Clinton/Gore disproved it in '92. Many of us regret that Reagan balanced with Bush in '80. Sarah Palin provided balance just to make it competitive in 2008. Every election is different.

DeSantis does not provide geographic or ideological balance, but he does provide age and complementary government experience and educational balance.

As far as both being in Florida, several approaches.

Trump can move, DeSantis cannot.
I would be OK with DeSantis being VP on the ticket in every state EXCEPT Florida, with a placeholder Republican (e.g. Jim Jordan) holding the spot on the ticket there. In the event that the electoral count is close, a Republican Senate should put him over the top.

That would leave an inside track for one of the lady VPs, leaving Ron out of the running in 2028.

I’d rather see Trump be President for another 4 years since he was cheated out of these 4 years then DeSantis be President for 8 years then another good Patriotic America First President for 8 years and so on.

I guess after the national divorce when the Stalinist dems have their own part of the country, President, congress, etc. and we have ours this would be a great new beginning without the heavy anchor of the left dragging us down.

Yes, I know I’m fantasizing, but something big has to change because there’s no way we are going to accept a New Leftist (Liberal) World Order. Just never going to happen.

desantis is currently running for reelection for florida governor this year (2022)...

he’s already stated his attention is focused on this year’s election, not a presidential campaign next year...

I’ll bet Desantis also isn’t ruling out Trump for his VP.

“...just think 12 years of conservative house cleaning!”

Problem is, Trump doesn’t do house cleaning. He hires the swamp. That’s why we need Desantis in 2024. He can give Trump a plumb job like Secretaryvof State. But we can’t afford to have another Trump presidency with RINOs given all the top positions.

Both parties have been importing a new electorate for 30 years to make it happen.

Trump’s keeping his word about stopping it is why they teamed up to cheat him out after hobbling his first term.

I’m d like Reagan in 1966. He was focused on running for governor. Then, when he won and was inaugurated in ‘67, he acceded to supporters who urged him to be a presidential candidate in 1968. He allowed supporters to put his name in nomination - against the other two candidates, Nixon and Rockefeller.
