And when the balance of power changes in Congress, the “abortion law” will be simply tossed out or ruled unconstitutional by the same SC that overturned RvW.

Joke of a press conference. Almost half of the questions centered on Roe v Wade. MSM urging Biden to take tougher measures to impose federal abortion laws on the country to replace Roe.

Biden all in on Ukraine even if it means more pain for Americans. Encouraging US investment in Angol to make solar panels. What about investment in America?

Biden's halting presentation mainly reading from note cards and someone whispering into his ear portrayed weakness.

Attacks on SCOTUS after a meeting with NATO inappropriate and disgusting. Is he encouraging violence against the court and undermining their legitimacy?

Biden & Co. should wear Totenkopf pins on their lapels.

Imagine if we did not have the filibuster. Then Senator Obama could never have filibustered the nomination of Justice Samuel Alito, and then we would not have such a person on the court. Oh, wait, he got approved anyway. But that just goes to show how deep the systemic racism is in our colonialist system.

(The preceding message was brought to you by the DNC. For a brighter, cleaner type of politics!)

Will their be enough votes in Congress to support abortion on demand including the third trimester? Doubtful. Devil is in the details.

Actually, what SCOTUS ruled was that abortion was a legislative matter, not a Constitutional right. They did not say that Congress could not pass legislation about this. It SHOULD be a state matter since the Constitution does not explicitly give the FedGov the power to regulate medical care, but we already had Obamacare approved by SCOTUS, so that horse has left the barn.

With the "substantive due process" (oxymoron!) basis gone, upon which enumerated power could a broad federal abortion regulation (or even legalization) be based?

The usual go-to enumerated power is the Commerce Clause, but while maybe the feds could regulate things relating to interstate "abortion services" like moving people and drugs around across state lines, I don't see SCOTUS stretching the Commerce Clause so far as to impose on the States a de-facto legalization of abortion.

Maybe I'm wrong.

If abortion is supposedly so popular with the American public (one Planned Perenthood spokesperson claimed nearly 70% of Americans approve of abortion access) then it should be relatively easy to replace pro life state legislators around the country and get liberal abortion laws passed in every state. Why the need for a Federal law then ?????

SCOTUS said Congress and/or state legislatures could pass laws either way about abortion. Congress could legalize it nationwide or ban it nationwide. SCOTUS just said the courts can’t intervene in legislative decisions.

71% of Americans favor restrictions on abortion. Abortion on demand is an outlier in the world.

There is no Union of the States or people. It has been trashed and is now on the way to the crematorium.
