My observation that this war has degenerated into a logistics and attrition war has some interesting components.
Russia can produce a lot of ammo, but has a LONG supply line that occasionally gets threatened by Ukraine forces.
Ukraine does not currently have a lot of ammo production and relies on NATO nations and a LONG supply line that is not currently threatened to any great extent by Russia.
Setting aside the morality of the war, anyone going into it should know that this is a whole different monster. Whereas in Iraq or Afghanistan you have the overwhelming technological advantage in this you do not. In those we could wipe the board within a couple days and then your challenge is IEDs and sneak attack skirmishes. In this you are going to get missiles raining on you against an enemy with at the very least parity.
Here’s some news.
US readying to provide Ukraine with air defense system, artillery support — source
As G7 convenes, Biden expected to announce he’s sending medium- and long-range missile system NASAMS for Ukrainians to defend themselves against continued Russian bombardments

“NASAMS is the same system used by the US to protect the sensitive airspace around the White House and US Capitol in Washington.”
[Along with more artillery ammunition and radar equipment.]
While that may be true, World War 2 ended over 75 years ago and it’s now little more than a “sins of the great grandfather” argument.
Putin’s a fan of that rhetoric; he’s also talked about two generations of Ukrainians having to be pacified and punished for the conflict that took place between 2014 and 2019.
That kind of argument has limited mileage outside of the heads of those who are invested in multigenerational ideological warfare. And genocide apologists.
It’s a bit difficult for Russia to keep playing the “we actually came in peace and we’re only attacking nazis in a very short termed peacekeeping mission” card after indiscriminately flattening hundreds of towns and villages, and at least two cities; rounding up tens of thousands of kids for shipping to new parents in Russia; erasing the very existence of Ukraine from their domestic school curriculum; adding five other countries to their “also need Denazification” list; and threatening to nuke London over Christmas.
London is a world trade city where half the regular population isn’t British and hundreds of countries have sizeable communities. But a few weeks ago Russia talked about destroying England with a tidal wave triggered off the Atlantic coast...
of the Republic of Ireland, which (a) has no dog in this fight and (b) does actually exist physically although the Russian mapmakers missed that memo.
A country that proposes to wipe a completely uninvolved country off the global map in order to hurt one that is the other side of it, and separated from it not just by a sea but by a bleeding mountain range, has gone Full Nazi Retard.
Surprise! War is no fun...news at 11!
So, you’re a “Nazi” if you think America should secure its own borders, deter the (real) enemy Red China, and stay out of a Eurotrash vs. Russia slap fight. What’s that person going to call you next? “Climate denier?” “Domestic terrorist?” “Fascist?” “Homophobe?” “Racist?” “Sexist?” “Transphobe?” “White nationalist?” Will that person accuse you of being at the Capitol on January 6, an “insurrection worse than 9/11?” Heavens to Betsy, no!
Those quixotic neocons who want to fight a dragon and windmills, ahem “Nazis,” need to leave Russia alone for much greener pastures. Red China is a *real* dragon far scarier than Russia, and Ukraine has plenty of *actual* Nazis (like the ones in that picture).
Because our ruling class are virtue-signaling twats who make a lot of money from losing Third World wars.
Wait, according to the propaganda spewed by the Western/Anglo media graciously provided daily by a few FR folks, Ukraine is winning and kicking Russia’s arse all over the place, that there is nothing but dooOom for Russia.... /s
Maybe the wiser course would be to save our own and weapons of war for that war with China that’s common and the greater war with Russia rather than giving them away to be sold on the black market to Ukraine
So folks that could barely hold their own against a poorly armed, undiciplined force cut and run when they face a trained, well armed, enemy?
In so far as I specifically compared the Mig 21 to the F-16, I don’t understand how you could possibly have misunderstood me. I was speaking of the Soviet transfer to North Vietnam. I wasn’t speaking about KGB Russia’s invasion forces in Ukraine.
Russia is allied to China and only invaded Ukraine after the Olympics. You are objectivey pro-PRC
#56. My apologies! I forget that after the sun goes down, my ability to think walk and chew gum, or think and post, declines rapidly.
This is the Western way of war: Make an inadequate effort, stretch out the carnage and achieve higher casualties and damage on both sides, and then give up and pull out.
Just *why* this is the Western way of war is something of a mystery to me.

The Military industrial Complex is waiting for the defense spending checks to clear.
The Russians are turning Ukraine into piles of rubble leavened with meat scraps unless it surrenders...

This tends to happen in war.
