So...you think the Court should reverse the decisions in both? As Cornyn seems to be advocating?
No.
I honestly can’t even tell what point Cornyn is trying to make.
My view is that the Court has a reasonable track record of fixing it’s mistakes. Plessy was a mistake. It got fixed. We’re done with that now. Roe was a mistake. It just got fixed. We’re done with that now.
The Left is always looking for “do overs” when they don’t get their way. I’m not. Right now, I think we’re in a pretty decent place.
How are you coming up with that? He was pointing out ANOTHER classic example of when the court was right to reverse its’ precedent.
That’s one interpretation. The other would be that he is suggesting that if it was wrong to overturn Roe with Dobbs, then is it also wrong to overturn Plessy with Brown?
Some more explanation would be in order.
I don’t do Twitter. Are you limited to 140 characters or some such?
You all are missing Cornyn’s point. He is equating Roe v Wade to Plessy v Ferguson and equating Dobbs v Mississippi to Brown v Topeka. He’s making a good point about overturning bad decisions.
