U.S. Senators Joe Manchin and Susan Collins slammed Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch for their votes in overturning Roe V. Wade on Friday.
The senators had voted to confirm the Donald Trump appointed justices despite fears that they would overtrun the landmark abortion ruling, with the senators saying at the time that they trusted Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to uphold the law.
Now Collins, a Republican, and Manchin, a Democrat, are accusing the justices of misleading them as they criticized the court's 5-4 ruling to end women's federal right to an abortion.

Yes, I remember when this place was full of Amy haters. She is the best Justice on the court besides Thomas and Alito.
funny, the American people have been misled by these puke politicians for decades
It was 6-3. They’re really stretching the truth here.
Perfect
And their point is?
They are the masters of misleading.
How’s it feel bitches?
Robert’s bent us over a long time ago.
This foments a falsehood and invites violence against the justices.
There were actually two decisions...it was 6-3 to uphold the Mississippi law that was challenged, and 5-4 to fully overturn Roe v. Wade. Roberts voted with the liberals on the latter.
That witch Collins comes out with a statement like this while complaining about how the country is divided...only to divide the COUNTRY EVEN MORE.
Yeah, Sue, let’s focus on the two who were honest in saying they couldn’t make a decision until ALL THE FACTS were known.
THERE ARE NO FACTS IN A HYPOTHETICAL.
Thought he just wrote an opinion regarding what would have been his perfect preference. There was one vote I thought. 6-3.
Every article I have read says otherwise, most of them posted here on FR.
So Senators, you are of the opinion that judges should vote based on their ideology (or more important your ideology) and preconceptions rather than on the arguments presented before them at the time the issue is litigated? That philosophy negates the very concept of “judging” and replaces it with rulings simply based on the individual judges temperament and political leanings rather than being based on the written word of the laws and constitution. I’m fairly certain the founding fathers envisioned a thoughtful Supreme Court who would do their best to interpret the Constitution and Amendments and Laws passed by their co-equal branch and signed by another co-equal branch.
I watched the hearings - neither of them misled anyone.
But, the questioners and false accusers sure misled a lot of folks - didn’t they...
You cannot be a Demonrat and be suspect on any position you hold. Manchin needs to be defeated!
You mean they’re upset because they fulfilled their oath and task as a “separate, but equal” branch of the government? The Supreme Court is NOT there to do Congress’s bidding. I wish congress would actually do their jobs.
Oh, OK, thanks for the info, so it was 5-4 to overturn Roe. Thank Goodness Trump go to nominate 3 Justices. We need to get him reelected in 2024.
Classic CYA by cowardly politicians who are both ignorant of legal matters and trying to impress ignorant voters that it wasn’t their fault.
Where were they when Kavanaugh was being smeared by perjurers and other Democrats?
